I just heard that Mark Brunell was cut from the Skins. He is somewhat similar to Leinart (noodle arm, southpaw) and experienced (some would say too experienced). Might be a consideration.

He's more fragile than Matt. He wouldn't last. I'd rather see the Cards go after a QB in the draft (later rounds).

Good point. I guess I forgot about that. I really thought Rattay was pretty good last year considering he only came in in clutch situations, aside from Carolina which I dont hold against him, and did extremely well.

If he fell to the sixth or seventh (which I doubt) I wouldn't mind seeing us get Dennis Dixon.

CardsFMD, you live around here, you should know more than anyone that Brunell has absolutely nothing left.

My original thought was that most #3s never had anything to begin with. After thinking about it for 5 minutes I decided that he definitely wasn't worth it, but when I saw he was cut I just had a strange thought I guess. My bad.

I still say, on paper anyway, Simms is a really good option. McCown(Luke) has solidified himself as a good #2 and Simms would only be the #3 for a year(at most). In '09, he moves up to the #2 spot and he's young enough to keep the Cards in good shape at starter and backup for a few years.
