New Back-Up QB

Should the Cardinals go after Akili Smith?

  • Hell yes! He is much better than what we have and he never had an opportunity to truly shine. Unde

If the Jags release Brunell, work out a deal and bring him in....I like the thought of having him as a back-up alot better than McCown at this point

He shouldn't. He's better than Blake, IMO. And, that's also why we shouldn't pick him up at this point in the season.

I agree. There is little chance of him coming here to be a backup who is better than the starter. This team is finally making some strides, I see no point in creating a controversy by bringing him in.

The vet QB who is brought in should probably be a Doug Pedersen (GB) type. A guy who has had starts but doesn;t represent a threat to Blake's starting position. A guy who can step in at a moments notice and there is little dropoff.

I don't think Smith, at this point, is that kind of player...although he may have been had he been in camp from early on learning the intricacies of the system.

Ask the almost playoff bound Dolphins last year with all of that talent and a fantastic running game what they think of Lucas.

Lucas is not the answer no matter what the question is.

If Mark Brunell is released we would be crazy not to make a run at him. He might start out as Blakes backup but that wouldn't last long. He has been a very good QB for a long time.
