Here goes:

1. Giants do the deal with Chargers and draft Manning.

2. Al Davis prefers Roy Williams over Fitz but not at #2. Problem is - if he trades down to #7 with Cleveland (who wants Gallery) Williams will probably be gone.

3. The Chargers would love a shot at Gallery (who'll be probably gone by #4) and have extra picks; so they trade back up with Big Al to the #2 slot. They then pick Gallery.

4. Cards as predicted select Fitzgerald

5. Big Al gets his man (Roy Williams) plus an extra pick.

So what you are saying is that SD gives Oakland compensation for the raiders not drafting Gallery.

Giants set on Eli

The Giants I have heard this morning on the Tony Bruno show, from their NFL insider, have offered to swap their 4th pick, something like their third rd and fifth rd pick, next years 2nd round pick and a player to be named (Ike Hilliard sp? seems to be the player reported) for the 1st pick. The Chargers are not budging on this proposal and I don't see why. Cleveland is also offering now but the guy said no one knows what it might be as yet except for SD and the Browns.

Ouch, one win has cost the Cardinals an extra 3rd, and 5th this year an extra 2nd next year and APTBNL? Why in the world did they have to beat Green Bay?

Now this makes sense - for everyone. I like it.

I wouldn't do it If I was SD, If the G-man wants Manning they have to give more than that.

totally agree. especially in light of the manning family ultimatum. in my mind the giants would have to pay a premium higher than most teams just so the chargers can save face in front of their fans. otherwise they look like they're caving to the manning family muscle.

No a loss to Green Bay would have given them the #1 the same as a loss to Minnesota. The difference is that I was at the Vikings game. :D

I've got a complex projection as well.

1. NYG (from SD) - Manning
2. Cle (from Oak) - Gallery
3. AZ - Fitzgerald
4. SD - (from NYG) - Rivers
5. Wsh - Winslow Jr.
6. Oak (from Det) - Roy Williams
7. Det (from Oak thru Cle) - Jackson
8. Atl - Hall
9. NE (from Jax) - Taylor
10. Hou - Smith

I guess the biggest surprise would be Taylor slipping to #9. I think Det will look hard at him or trading that pick to NE, but moving down past 15 wouldn’t give them a very good chance at Jackson. NE has a deal w/ Mia that will land them the #20 pick which they will package w/ #21 (and more) for a shot a Taylor. Jax will become a likely partner as they can’t move up to get Fitz or Williams and do not want to use pick #9 on Udeze. This way they can fill James Harris’ quest for a WR and Del Rio’s DE. As for Oak, they want Williams but are nervous about moving past #6 (where Williams will most likely go whether it’s Atl or Jax moving up). So Davis would like to make a deal w/ Millen before moving from #2 and Gallery. Detroit will do this rather than deal the #6 to either Atl or Jax because Oak could take their guy (Jackson) at #7 w/ Williams off the board.

This scenario makes a whole lot more sense.
If Oakland wants Roy Williams then they will take him at #2.
We take Fitz. at #3
Chargers take Rivers at #4.

The Oakland trading down then trading up thing is absurd.
