Wait... so now with an even more transmissible virus, the league is going to do LESS testing of vaxxed players? Basically, they’re going full Trump “Slow the testing down please” because they don’t want to know how much it’s actually going around the league?

They're saying they think the asymptomatic players are not spreading it. I don't know if that's true or not but they THINK vaccinated non symptomatic people are not the problem so they're not testing them.

If that's right or not who knows.

But yeah it's because they had such high case numbers this week they looked bad

Is there any science behind that sudden change? And making that decision right before we KNOW a much more transmissible virus is about to hit us that we’re still learning about as to it’s strength?

Lol. Just do driven by money. They don’t want to cancel or postpone games. So what they don’t know, can’t hurt them. With a virus that’s killed coming up on almost 1 million americans people in the last two years.

What’s hysterically laughable is that the players own union who supposed to be looking out for the best interest had to sign off on this too if I’m not mistaken?

Wonder when folks realize this virus is here to stay forever. It’s not going to just take its ball & go home.

That being said, still take every precaution to prevent on getting it.

Should’ve been known since summer of 2020. I’m vaccinated & wear my mask in public gatherings, but I knew this virus was just not going to stop existing. People had to know the NFL was going to do this eventually. Soon, NBA & other leagues will soon follow.

That’s part of what testing is for.

I think their idea is these guys aren't getting really sick at all, look at OBJ great game against us, positive the next day clearly he was positive when he played against us. the league looked horrible last week because of all the positive tests, Baker complaining etc. So they put out the press release about viral loads and such and then a day later we're not testing vaccinated players unless they show symptoms. they're saying 2 things, we think lots of guys are playing every week positive and nobody knew. We don't want to have every team with double digit guys positive we look bad, if they have to sit the games will get diminished level of talent, we don't think these are the guys spreading it(they have no idea if that's true) so we're just not going to test them.

They think players aren't goign to be getting really ill so they're going to take their chances.

Are you shocked at this? They will eventually claim that although the new strain is more contagious, it is not as dangerous.

You see Benjamin is immune to Covid 19.

TBH, CDC guidelines have no isolation or quarantine requirements for vaccinated folks who test positive but are asymptomatic. The only recommendation is to wear a mask while indoors. So in essence, the NFL is aligning their policies with what is considered acceptable practice.

Buddy of mine is vaxxed and tested positive in a random at his hospital. He was 100% asymptomatic, so his hospital told him to come on back to work and tend to patients (he’s an RN). He ended up passing it to 2/3 children (who weren’t vaxxed). I don’t understand the rationale (he was obviously able to spread it), but this is what is considered acceptable per CDC guidelines.

the difference is he was tested. the NFL is not going to test asymptomatic players and as said above most players won't self report. They got embarassed by all the cases this week so they made a change so they can report less cases.

I read this morning they think the primary issues as to why so many more players than staff have it is they think lots of players got J an J so they only needed 1 shot, it's far less effective against delta and probably omicron.

The NFL is going to be a test case the problem is they're using the players, not the executives as the guinea pigs

NFL and NFLPA are getting close to adopting CDC guidelines for screening.

It would reduce quarantining from 10 days to 5 days.

As all our players are vaccinated that wouldn't change anything for us or would it? Because right now vaccinated players only have to test negative twice, doesn't matter when, so in theory they could be back after 2 days.

Yes the science is very clear. The more you test, the more players will be removed from games. The more games that are blowouts due to missing players the less the NFL piggy bank gets stuffed. Remove that pesky testing and the more money they can stuff into the piggy, science..

So everyone out against the Colts should be back for Dallas.

It's a possibility if they are not showing symptoms. Of course players have to practice and be in game shape before they play.
