For someone who is supposedly so far over the hill and washed up, that sure was a thing of beauty Emmitt turned in on that screen play the last game. It proved there is stilll some gas left in the tank.
Granted, he may have lost a step from his prime. But his leadership was so nice to see this year, and even though I don't think he's a "feature" back like he once was, he still has some very valuable contributions he can make to this team.
I totally disagree about he and Shipp being the "same style" runners. No way, Jose.
I actually liked the combo of him and Shipp for that very reason. Having him in the backfield makes the team less predictable AND probably even more importantly, will help insure the life of the QB, especially if the Cards, as most would seem to expect, go the "younger" route there.
Show me any RB that the Cards could replace him with, for the same cost as what they pay out for him.
And finally.....any one that "blames" the Cards 4-12 record on Emmitt Smith, to me, just plain has absolutely no clue of what they are talking about.
