Well, so far my favorite of the new fall shows (disregarding sitcoms which I rarely watch) has to be Person Of Interest. I thought it was a well paced action drama with a not too unbelievable premise.

I was very disappointed in Charlie's Angels. I wasn't really a fan of the 70's version but I gave this one a try because I had heard it was going to be mostly an action show (as opposed to the soft-core porn of the original). I felt like I was watching a Disney production aimed at 8 year olds. The acting was abysmal (and I'm rarely critical of acting).

I'm going to give Ringer another week or two but it didn't really grab me. I liked Secret Circle but suspect it will devolve into a cross between Twilight and Vampire Diaries. I'm hoping it will be more like The Gates (cancelled in first season) or Haven but I have my doubts.

Unforgettable and Prime Suspect were both watchable but nothing special. I intend to stay with them awhile as I like both Maria Bello and Poppy Montgomery but I think I liked the new Lifetime summer cop show (Against The Wall) better than either of them.

Anyone see anything they like yet?

This seems to be a really weak year. Nothing new really interest me. Probably for the best since I have way too many shows that I watch. Don't even have enough time for those. I'll probably give Terra Nova a shot but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

My wife and I enjoyed Up all Night. I like Hank Azaria and we've given Free Agents a shot, but it's not going to last long.

You ought to give Person Of Interest a try. IMO, it would still be a good show in a year of stellar new shows. In a year like this it really stands out. I'm also going to give Terra Nova a try with the probably futile hope that it isn't just another Falling Skies, Walking Dead disappointment.

That's too bad. I never watch sitcoms until they hit Netflix streaming but this was one of the few I had hopes for (because of Azaria).

I like Body of Proof but yeah, it's not as good as Bones. It's now into it's second season so perhaps it didn't work for you because of a lack of familiarity with already established characters. I have A Gifted Man DVR'ed but I haven't taken the time to watch it yet.

I think I forgot to mention Playboy Club initially but I agree, it was better than I expected. I'm not really sure why I set it up to record because I really didn't want to watch it in the first place but I thought it was pretty well done.

I liked Prime Suspect with Maria Bello. I also liked Pan Am. Some of the stewardesses were hot. :)

The new shows I am giving a shot right now include Prime Suspect and Person of Interest. I'm also going to try Luther on BBCA Wednesday night and Terra Nova tonight. In October I'll be giving Homeland a shot as well and Hell on Wheels looks pretty badass.

Prime Suspect was hilarious. All the male characters were bad guys from other shows and it seemed they all had that whispering, husky type of tone that made them sound like everything they were saying was really important.

It seems like there is something not quite there with Person of Interest. Maybe it needs a couple of episodes to get warmed up?

I liked the show but I do worry about one thing. Although the two stars are both good actors neither of them are particularly charismatic and this is made even more obvious by the fact they are each playing fairly understated characters. That probably wouldn't be an issue if the show was on AMC or USA but I'm not sure it will fly on Network TV.

Network TV doesn't have much to offer anymore, imo. Seems like most of the new shows in any given year are based on the same old cliche-ridden predictable formula, at least the ones I've watched a few episodes of. Of the seven hour-long shows I still watch, six are on cable, with the only exception being House. You would think that with the critical success of the cable shows, it would set the bar higher, but it had no effect on the major networks. The execs there seem to be content on rolling out the same types of shows every year, changing the titles but not much else, and then they wonder why nobody's watching anymore.

Ugh, can't stand her. Ruins or almost ruins everything she's in. I could probably get into her 'different' style of cute, even with the bug eyes, but her bored 'whatever' monotone just makes me despise her acting.

Have you seen 500 days of summer with her and Joseph Gordon-Levitt? I thought that was an amazing movie and she was very good in it. Still is a movie I recomend to many people.

Not yet. Gordon-Levitt argues strongly for the movie, but she annoys me so much. The only reason I liked Syfy's Tin Man (good mini-series, btw) is because the rest of it is so well written and acted, and the concept is great. Like Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and Kevin Costner, Tin Man was good DESPITE the lead actress, not BECAUSE of her.

I get what you are saying but I think she nailed that movie. Its at least worth a netflix look.

Anyone watch Suburgatory last night? ABC before Modern Family. I thought it would be horrible but it turned out to be highly entertaining and laugh-out-loud funny.

At least to me. :)

I wouldn't call it a chick flick show, but I think there were a few set-ups that women would get more than men. :)
