I disagree with the premise of this thread. I think people misunderstand the psychology of football coaches. I think that Arians would relish the opportunity to build a roster/offense to his design and tutor a young QB. He didn't have to take that job in Indy working with Andrew Luck.

There's three ways I see this going at the end of the season: We're successful enough but BA retires due to health/rebuild, in which case I think Goodwin or Bowles becomes HC. Or we're not successful, BA's ready to retire, and we scrap the staff. Or BA stays.

I know that kinda runs the gamut, but I do feel like there's a slightly higher chance of us blowing the whole thing up than others do.

I'd do backflips for Harbaugh, even though I think his style wears on players and teams. I do wonder at times if the old-school mentality of BA is starting to hurt this team's chemistry. I'd prefer we went reasonably young. I'd love to have BA here for another 10 years with what he's done so far, but I know it's not realistic.

No chance on Harbaugh, he makes more in college and can easily dominate every year.

I think you are 100% correct regarding the philosophy, if the QB is Sam Darnold, for example. Not sure at this point in his career if he would start a rookie unless it was of Luck's or Roethllsberger's caliber.

Pete carroll and sean payton both make $8mil a year... so it is not out of the realm of possibility that he can make more cash coaching in the nfl

My hunch is the next HC will be T

Very intrigued with the combo of Haley/Bowles.
You know MB has always kept Haley on speed dial. Would bet he gets the first call when BA hangs em up...

Are we forgetting about the lunacy when Haley was a head coach in Kansas?

Belichick was a flop in Cleveland in his first HC gig. Gary Kubiak pretty much the same in Houston, but was the right guy at the right time in Denver.

Just a guess, but I don't think the KC situation will concern or deter MB or SK at all. Ironically, i think they will see it as a good thing that he got the HC experience so he can grow from it in his 2nd gig.

http://www.businessinsider.com/rece...was-afraid-team-facilities-were-bugged-2012-1

Four days before he was fired as the team’s coach, he wanted to talk about what life was like inside this organization. But he didn’t know who else might be listening.

Looking up toward the ceiling, he darted into a back hallway before hesitating. Then he turned around, going back through a door and stopping again. Haley suspected that many rooms at the team facility were bugged so that team administrators could monitor employees’ conversations. Stopping finally in a conference room, Haley said he believed his personal cellphone, a line he used before being hired by the Chiefs in 2009, had been tampered with.

Good point. MB and SK know Haley very well. If they have concerns about Haley's behavior, then they won't even consider him.

I think that was more related to the toxic culture created by Scott Pioli (GM), not so much something with Haley's character.

Or was Haley just hyper paranoid? I dont know the answer, I just vaguely remember it.

I would agree with you if Warner and Fitz weren't so emphatic in their praise of Haley. Q not so much, but Q was angry with the organization to begin with.

This. 100% this. What an odd couple Pioli and Haley were. If MB and SK hire Haley, Haley would get all the support he needs.

Just to be clear fellas, I’m not the author of the post. I’m just going by off what someone else thinks.

Back on track, I like Bowles, but only as a DC. I fear for the worst if he became the HC. He’ll probably get canned after this season so I doubt another organization will hire him off the bat. Haley? No thanks. I’m most fascinated with Todd Downing. He has molded Derek Carr into the QB he is today & I see Raider fans have been very happy with his playcalling so far. Just imagine 3 HCs in one division under the age of 40? Man.

The cardinals interviewed Darrell Bevell last time around. Definitely should hire this time.

Act now as supplies are limited.
