After realizing how no one is going to overtake GS for at least the next 3 years, I think PHX should do the following:
1. Draft Dennis Smith Jr at #4 if PHI doesn't take him at #3. This kid reminds me of Allen Iverson with his explosiveness and athletic ability. He is a scoring guard but he has playmaking ability (average 6+ apg last year at NC State). Also, he has the tools to be a really good defender, showed glipses in college but because of his large offensive role it wasn't on full display. Knocks are he has an ACL tear is his past but looks fully healed. He does have a bad habit of landing stiffly on one leg so hopefully he learns to land on 2 legs to minimize potential for another knee injury. Appeared selfish or like a black hole on offense at times, failing to involve teammates, sloppy passing which led to turnovers and made some bad decisions with shot selection at times. But I think he is a better PG now than Fox.
2. I would see if SAC would be willing to deal #5 & #10 for Bledsoe. By the time GS starts their decline Bledsoe will be in his 30's and in the beginning of a potentially really huge contract so why not get younger and have our guys entering their primes together when the time comes to contend? SAC needs a PG and despite all our hopes they would take Knight off our hands, Bledsoe is more realistic. PHX could then nab Tatum at #5 and if the speculation that they are intrigued by Zach Collins is legit then they could have him at #10.
3. Try and find a taker for Knight in a separate deal to free up even more cash, so that if necessary we could try and sign a couple of marquee FA's to max deals should the youth movement take a little longer or need some help to speed up the process.
