"Bullsharks" would have been asking for trouble. I could have gone for "Sand Sharks." "Mosquitos" would be no improvement over "Hornets."

I would have even gone with Land Sharks before Pelicans.

Why not just call themselves the New Orleans Coffee tables....or the New Orleans ant hills?
The Pelicans? Really? F'ing terrible.

Finding a mascot for a major US city or state pro team would seem to be something that could be solved pretty easily. I guess not.

Actually those logos are nice Griff. Its the mascot thats atrociously bad and to be honest....weak.

I agree, some of those are pretty good. I think I like the last one best. Working in the basketball in the center-left is a cool idea, but it's not so obvious as to look contrived.

I used to live in New Orleans. You can drive from N.O. down to Grand Isle to see Pelicans. I think it's a great name for the team and long overdue. JMO.
