This is arguable. With KD as their 1, the Nets had reeled off like 21 of 24 wins and was either the 1 or 2 seed in the East before he got hurt.

What’s not arguable is he’s not a 1 anymore. And even sadder, Book is DEFINITELY not a 1 and to be honest, isn’t even really a championship level 2 because he’s pretty one dimensional and doesn’t play both sides of the court. And he’s absolute trash as a number 1.
You don't think Book could be a #2 on a title team? In terms of a #1 there is no question he is not that player. I don't know how anybody could argue otherwise. Although my brother doesn't think so either. He said Book is a #3 that the Suns elevated to a #2 and this why the Suns won't win a title with him no matter who you put next to him.

To be honest… no. A number 2 needs to be able to control a game, be some kind of matchup nightmare or be a SUPER clutch playoff performer. Book is none of those things. He’s a very scorer… and that’s it.

I don’t agree. I think he could be a championship #2. You can’t convince me that he couldn’t be a Middleton to a Giannis.

I know, we saw him come within a few plays of a title a few years ago on a team where he was unquestionably a top 2 guy.

He hasn't gotten worse, statistically he's had monster seasons, we are asking him to run the offense and he isn't getting to do hardly any off ball stuff, which he is elite at, we're also asking him to handle the toughest defensive assignment the majority of the time he is on the court because Beal, Jones and Allen can't defend anyone.

A few plays? They lost in 6 games, Booker was bad in the deciding game, and had a run to the Finals littered with opponents best players or second best players being injured. Now I know you’ll come back with your usual retort that lots of title teams won their titles with injury marred playoff runs. Here’s the big difference… BOOKER’S TEAM DIDN’T. So all that run showed me was that even with all kinds of favorable luck headed our way for once, even with HCA AND a 2-0 lead in the Finals, Book STILL couldn’t win a title as a 2. When you throw in that he’s been completely and utterly humiliated out of the playoffs ever since and it speaks even less for him. That Finals run was sadly the glaring exception to the rule of Booker’s entire career where we’ve either missed the playoffs entirely (the majority of his tenure) or he’s been made someone’s laughable meme’d bitch.

Yeah… statistically Bradley Beal used to have monster seasons too. Same with Melo. Guys who Booker basically equates to. As for his defensive excuse, what was the excuse the first six years of his career when he was awful on D? Reality is he’s played good defense in 2 out of his 10 years.

What point are you trying to make here? I said Booker is a top 2 guy, you agree with that a post later, then you fly off the handle.
