For a week, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been sitting, along with the New York Giants, waiting for quarterback Aaron Rodgers to decide which team he wants to play for. But according to a new report from The Athletic, these teams might be waiting for nothing.

According to this report, Rodgers is waiting for an offer from the Minnesota Vikingswhich we've already talked about. It was initially believed the Vikings had an offer on the table but no, Minnesota is still out on Rodgers and according to one reporter have no interest in him.

But if The Athletic is current, if Rodgers doesn't get an offer from the Vikings, he could simply choose to retire rather than play for Pittsburgh or New York.

This is a bizarre twist but given the eccentric nature of Rogers, should come as no surprise to anyone. If things don't work out for Rodgers and he decides to hang up his cleats, he leaves the Steelers in the lurch. Would Pittsburgh then turn to Russell Wilson and try to re-sign him, look for another veteran like Carson Wentz or would the Steelers go all in on a rookie in the 2025 NFL draft?
