3 games, 3 KO's blasted out of the endzone to start the game. :bang:
I hate the rule & the NFL just took out 1 of the most exciting plays in the game, the KO return. Who doesn't luv seeing LSH going 100 yds for a TD?

Their were plenty of kick returns for TD's, when they were kicked off from the 35 before. Will their be fewer??? Sure, but it's not like it's going to be 90% touchbacks.

Was that a rule that the players wanted, or was it the owners decision? Either way, dumb rule...

I'm pretty sure it came about in an effort to reduce injuries.

Steve
Thats why i was assuming the players pushed for it, because a lot of injuries occur on kick offs. I predict the rule will be changed eventually because its literally a waste of time.

We should go to 12 games and keep the scrubs off the field.
Make each game more important.
We all but locked up the division 08-09 with lots of games left.

We may need more preseason games this year!

They should go to weight limits. No linemen over 200lbs. No Backs over 160lbs.

Oh wait guys would still get hurt so nevermind. But hey I still love the Nanny Football League.

It's all part of the master plan to go to 18 games.

18 games is a huge mistake. One day they'll wake up and realize the season should really be 44 games long with a 6 week playoff schedule. That leaves a week for the combine and another week for the draft - plenty of time.

It completely changes the fantasy league I'm in. Last year the key to the league was points for KOR yards, once I figured that out and got Jacoby Ford I went from last to making the championship game(and losing). I was looking at picking a KOR earlier this year but not now.

LSH led the league in KOR yardage, was third in the league in average return (27.2 avg) with those over 40 returns.

A dubious achievement. Cards returned 84 Kickoffs to our opponents 51. Compared to 54-61 in 2009. Thirty more kickoff returns in one season is not a good thing. :(

We could just pass more,

but I like our team stats better than last year, you know over the first 5 NFL games in the preseason, but i'll take what i can get!

this is too physical of a sport to play 18 games, that would be a selfish move to make more money on behalf of the league. I like to see it reduced too to 12 games, better quality play and games that mean more

the kickoffs - on the surface I don't like it ... but I will reserve judgement until players get a little more comfortable with it

basically I want to see guys taking the ball out .. the kickoff is at the 35, but the return unit is stationary back at the 30 .... so the ball is in your hands faster and the guys can't get to you as quick ... that should hopefully offset the 5-8 yard difference that guys are experiencing in where they catch it ..... watching games last night it seemed like when someone would take it out from 5 yards in there really wasn't anyone close to tackling them until they got the 20 anyway .... may just need to unlearn when to take a knee and when to take it out

one I saw in action last night was the new horsecollar rule .... i think it's going to upset fans on about every team this year

I will agree having the most KOR's is not a goal to strive for. However the point remains - LSH as a return man and the Cardinals return team were good last season, they did not give up more per return than they got, as was stated.
