Whats USAA?[/quote]

It's a insurance company for military and govt. employees I believe. I think that'll be the choice because I heard a few years ago that they were going to be our biggest employer in the state. Maybe I'm wrong.

Southwest has a major hub in Phoenix. They are going up against the U.S. Airways center.

I heard that Southwest was looking into moving their HQs to Phoenix. If this is true, then I could see them naming the stadium.

I'm still hoping that they pass on naming rights for at least the first season.
After so many years of not having their own stadium(18 years at SDS and I believe before that sharing with the St. louis baseball cardinals) having them play in "Cardinals Stadium" just rocks!

Obviously Lex doesn't have any real info. If he did, he would've said it by now.

Was this all a big joke to see how gullible we were Lex or do you actually have concrete info on this? It appears to me after looking at the Trib's story on this that there is no truth to this whatsoever. I didn't want Toyota being the sponsor anyway since they already sponsor the arena in Houston. I would much prefer Honeywell Field or HoneyWell Stadium or Dial Field or Dial Stadium. It's too bad it couldn't be a local sponsorship but I doubt that's going to happen and don't think there is any Phoenix corporations that could put up that kind of money. I originally thought Honeywell would be a good local one to go with but their world HQ's are in New Jersey! We need to get a name for our stadium that won't be confused with anything else and I hope the Bidwill's realize this. Yes, money is going to be the deciding factor but I also think name recognition is very important.

Bumpin' this, because I had a thought...

This new picture got me thinking:

The implication here is that the actual name of the new stadium might include "Field" instead of "Stadium". Obviously, emphasizing the unique roll-out field. And, I've heard some rumors that the Bidwills might like the name "Cardinals Stadium".

So, let's say Toyota really DOES get the naming rights; the stadium could be officially called:

Toyota Field at Cardinals Stadium

What 'cha think?
