I was just veiwing pics of the new stadium and a thought on the design came to mind. Is it wise to not have end zone seating on one side of the field? Won't this take away from a home field advantage? Noise? I have heard that the stadium is expandable to somewhere in the 10k figure. Which I would assume would come from some addition of endzone seats. But that is only for special events.

Anyone else think this important? Trust me i'm gald to have a new state of the art stadium for our boys to play in. So by no means am I complaining, just a thought.

i didn't know there wasnt endzone seating on one end, why isn't there? i think this will take away some home field advantage, the cards need their zonies.

No, it looks like from the stadium animation there will be no South End Zone seating so they can roll in the field.

I'm interested to see how they are going to redo the seating for the new stadium for everyone.

I have some worries about the rolling field. What if it malfunctions and begins rolling right in the middle of the game and they can't shut it off.

It depends, is the opposing kicker about to go for a game winning field goal? If so then I'm all for that happening!

I have a strange feeling that that will not happen for 2 reasons.

1. They are spending a whole lot of money on this, sO I am sure there are 15 different fail safe devices on it.

2. I have a felling they just shut all power to it during the game, just a huntch though.

That side of the stadium has panels that open like elevator doors to let air and light in. Very cool.

I can just see it now, people yellow "Stop, No, Stop" as the goal posts go crashing through the south wall, bringing the entire stadium down!! :)

By the way, the goal posts obviously have to be removable and not permanently fixed.

They probably fold down.

Does the movable field have different speeds that can be set, like if the Cards are losing, they set it at super speed to get them out of the stadium as quick as possible?

Hopefully we get to remove them in '08 when the Cards become the first team ever to win the SB at home.

It has a totally kick butt parking brake.

Trust me. If the Cards turn into winners and start selling the place out, they'll find ways to install some seats in the "open" end zone.

Maybe they can wheel in some heated aluminum bleacher seats just for old time sakes!

Too funny. On the Cards site it says it will take 45 mins to roll out the field. 2 yds/min (about my 40 speed). Not like a treadmill set on 10. :D

I remember as a kid in Minnesota the Metrodome's soft roof collapsed inwards due to too much snow. That was funny.
