If they are going to take the purple away, at least make the uniforms red so all the AZ teams would be the same color..

Suns have identified w/ Purple and Orange since they came to town in the 60's. It would be a bad PR move to change to red; even worse than when the D-Backs changed colors.

Well that's what I'm saying.. It's bad that the purple is gone.. So why not just really change it then I guess..

And I think it was perfect the change the DBacks did.. I'm not a fan of team colors involving purple outside of basketball.. I never really bought DBacks gear before the change because I refused to wear the purple with it..

No surprise. We all knew what the logo and uniforms would look like once we saw the court this year.

That "Suns" font is super lame. Getting rid of the purple, the thing everyone associates with the Suns is moronic.

Continued evidence of Sarvers buffoonery. He finally made a good move JD gesture to the past by bringing in Horny. But this is more evidence that he doesn't really care. He's trying to rebuild the franchise in his own image and distance it from Colangelo.

I'd say he'd change the colors of the seats in the arena, but that would cost too much.

It's only a matter of a couple of years before he starts complaining that USAC is crumbling and Maricopa County needs to build him a new one.

At least Sarver should have let the fans have some say in the matter.

I'll buy a pink jersey if they win a championship wearing it.

Christ... those look like garbage. Especially that "S", no one would be able to tell it represents a sun unless the words were around it, and even then its confusing. Looks somewhat like our old logo, covered in black death and sporting a severe hernia.

If this is legit I hope the blacklash is loud and violent, forcing them to retract that trash. I will remain somewhat optimistic though, we've seen countless "leaked" logos for various over the years and they are almost always fan-made trash.

What the hell, that looks like the San Francisco Giants colors!

Part of the reason I became a Suns fan was because I liked the color combination of purple and orange.

Why the hell are they gonna change that now? Ugh!

They look good, stop wetting your panties over some team colours, there is still some purple in it. Thankfully it not as dominant as it was before and the S logo is just alternative I believe but still much better than the silly Phoenix bird logo.

They still have your silly bird logo. Purple is as much ingrained in the teams history as anything else. The arena used to be called "the purple palace". Dumping the color will seriously alienate a lot of the old school fans.

The team's play has been ugly enough of late, putting them in hideous orange and black, Halloween inspired **** will make them even uglier and it will feel less and less like I am watching the franchise I grew up with.

Wow yea you won't see me buying any of the team's new gear and t-shirts. Maybe I'll buy a black Suns jersey but that's it.

If there were nationally televised games on Halloween, the Suns would be in it every year with these colors.

These are just bad. Why the Dbacks and Suns insist on new fonts that look like clip art is beyond me. And color schemes are important to longtime fans--pretending otherwise is ridiculous.

Hopefully this is just the Suns' "blue man with a lightning bolt" phase, and like the Warriors, they can return to the original look and build some excitement. Maybe Sarver will even sell the team, and the new owner will restore what once was--and we can all associate this silliness with an era finally past.

Few NBA jerseys have ever so perfectly represented their City.

The Western font, of course, is a logical fit. Phoenix is a city founded by a man who fought on both sides of the Civil War, was an alcoholic and opium addict and may have killed 10 people. That Wild West font is perfect for a Wild West city.

The setting sun on the shorts is great. Obviously it reflects the teams name, and our famous AZ sunsets.

The purple is reminiscent of the sunsets and of the mountains in the distance. Not to mention the purple flowers of lantana, and prickly pears. The orange represents the sun, but also looks like the color of the desert earth at times.

The original logo is a bore, but I love the Phoenix bird logo, even if it is more or less a rip off of the old Firebirds logo.

The only thing they need to "update" is changing the font on the Bird logo to the Wetern logo and they'd be set. If they wanted to make a small teak to the old units they could add the bird emblem as a small patch on the back of the neck above the players name (and of course lengthen the shorts).
