Can't say I like it too much.
The Suns are one a few teams who will be using sleeved jerseys. Not because of how it will look or feel on the players, but they feel they will sell more to fans in the team shops. Interesting!

Few NBA jerseys have ever so perfectly represented their City.

The Western font, of course, is a logical fit. Phoenix is a city founded by a man who fought on both sides of the Civil War, was an alcoholic and opium addict and may have killed 10 people. That Wild West font is perfect for a Wild West city.

The setting sun on the shorts is great. Obviously it reflects the teams name, and our famous AZ sunsets.

The purple is reminiscent of the sunsets and of the mountains in the distance. Not to mention the purple flowers of lantana, and prickly pears. The orange represents the sun, but also looks like the color of the desert earth at times.

The original logo is a bore, but I love the Phoenix bird logo, even if it is more or less a rip off of the old Firebirds logo.

The only thing they need to "update" is changing the font on the Bird logo to the Wetern logo and they'd be set. If they wanted to make a small teak to the old units they could add the bird emblem as a small patch on the back of the neck above the players name (and of course lengthen the shorts).

Completely agree, and I've always liked the concept of the bird logo as well. I like that it evokes the Firebirds since the Firebirds are no more, and it also shares similarities with the city's logo. Buffalo is one of the few other cities I can think of whose name IS a mascot.

I actually love the firebird logo, except for the PHX. I wish they would have the word SUNS instead. But otherwise it's pretty cool IMO.

Personally I like the PHX since it represents the City. In sports Im cheering for Phoenix/Arizona more than the franchises. I didn't care about the St Louis football Cardinals or the Winnipeg Jets and if any team leaves here, they're dead to me.

Sports are the last bastion of great civic pride, so I like when logos are an extension of that.

That being said it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if it said "Suns" I just prefer it this way.

oh my lord. those are the single-lamest jerseys I've ever seen in my lifetime. I already have little feelings for this team, and call me crazy, but those jerseys might just push me away for good.

I mean...those look hilariously bad.

Sarver takes another giant dump on the Suns. He really is the manchurian candidate, at this point his trolling is getting ridiculous.

We've gone from one of the most successful and entertaining franchises in the league to a laughingstock. Good times!

Of course, it's a poor Photoshop job, so keep that in mind.

It is a league thing. The Suns are one of four or five NBA teams who are on board. We really didn't innovate it.

Until they are good again everything Sarver does is going to be perceived this way.

IMO one of the hardest things to do is take over a successful business. If it keeps being successful you get no credit. If it declines you get all the blame.

I wouldn't mind us having a "P" logo. I'd sport that. Pretty soon, the Suns will be the only major local team with "Phoenix" as part of the name, and that's regardless if the Coyotes leave or not.

With that said, I wish they'd use the Madhouse era uniforms as the basis for their next design. Those were the only ones I liked. I think I might be one of the very few who didn't like the 25th anniversary uniforms.

Agree. I like how teams like Golden State and Philly went back to their roots and used throwbacks as their main unis. Everyone (that I know) who has followed the team for decades love the old Madhouse unis. I even like the Barkley era jerseys.

If Sarver wants to get fans back in the arena, aside from bringing in better talent and coaching, he ought to consider the throwback look (or at least throw out a public poll to see what fans prefer).

Agree 100%.The Suns firebird logos is my favorite of all our franchises. It ties the city and team name together perfectly and just looks cool. I see they still have it but hope it stays prominent and not just some random alternative logo.

Good. And it looks like the deep purple Sarver was hinting about.

Good lord that S logo is a mess.

Not a huge fan of this new purple either, it's a lot more blue and less red it seems. Though I like a bluer purple (is the Suns traditional purple is much richer/deeper than LAs) why mess with a good thing?
