I wish that were true. The closest the Cards have come to 2000 yards rushing in a season since Lomax was in 1990 with 1,912 yards. But the QB had 470 of those yards on scrambles.
They also did fairly well in 1993 with 1800 and then again in 2002 with 1,823 but again Plummer had 283 of those yards in '02.
The offensive line in those Bugel years was solid but not insane. Luis Sharpe, Derek Kennard, Bill Lewis, Lance Smith and Tootie Robbins in '93 and Sharpe, Mark May, Ed Cunningham, LSmith, and Rick Cunningham in '90.
2002 was LJ Shelton, Pete Kendall, Mark Gruttadauria, Chris Dishman, and Leonard Davis.
An excellent example of the Cards historic rushing woes is that they have not had a back with more than 4 100 games in a season since Lomax. In 1991,'94,'97 and '01 they had no one go over 100 yards.
