I am still going to watch the Suns games, no doubt. But I find my self checking up on the Knicks, I also watch them when ever they are on, never used to happen. Their style of play, and Amare has me rooting for them to squash Boston and the Obscene Dream Team in Miami.

The more the Suns lose, the more I some how enjoy the success going on in NY.
Nobody can coach the way D'antoni, I love his the score score and then score some more fast B-ball he runs.He is flat out making a stud of their little PG who got like a bazillion assists against the Suns. D'antoni, defense shmefence, and I loved it when it was here.

Amare, I am missing him like a dawg misses his balls. His name means "good looking" and he is looking very very good. Taking the #1 man role on a team, putting it on his shoulders, and stuffing it like a mad man every time I catch the top 10 highlites. His defense is also damn good, homie is swatting garbage out of the Garden

Note : I tried extremely hard not to bad mouth the Suns while posting this, it was hard.

I refuse to allow you to be a Bearsfan and a Knicksfan. I am pulling rank here. Request denied. Colangelo is a Chicago guy (I think).

I started a thread before the season began and suggested we should adopt the Knicks as our backup team. My thinking then was that they were going to be competitive and because they were so much more high profile than we could ever hope to be, their fast paced style might re-start the process where the league moves away from the heavy physical style of the Bostons of the world. It didn't go over well. One guy even equated me with Andrew, which is pretty much the biggest insult you can toss at an ASFNer. Maybe you'll have better luck.

I like the Bulls too, Derrick Rose is an awesome guard to follow. I've become less and less an NBA fan these days. Ticky tack fouls, technicals for pretty much no reaction, its a soft league that pretends to be hard. It's hard to sit through an entire game without getting frustrated.

I was a Knicks fan back in the '60's and '70's glory days of Willis Reed, Dave DeBuscherre, Bill Bradley, Walt Frazier, etc.

Since moving to Phoenix from NJ 33 years ago, my loyalty has been to the Suns (that is why I get so vocal when they are content to be good enough), then to other Western conference teams.

'Just sharing my opinion with you. I will not root for an Eastern team.

Especially one that is a Suns imitator in putting on a great show during the regular season, then disappointing. One team like that is enough.

I know I'll be in the vast majority (when it comes to our message board) but I find myself barracking for the Heat as my second team. I'm not a fan of the off-court antics of "King" James, but love his unselfish game. It may be that I also enjoy the activity of the whole team on the defensive side - which I'm just not used to see.

As for the Knicks, yes - I really love the Suns' style of game - but not on a team that is not Phoenix. It's a too painful reminder of what was and should still be.

If you haven't noticed, the Knicks continue to get busted by the good teams (they did beat San Antonio although it seemed a little fluky as everyone was on fire in that game) and they really haven't put up any defensive effort in most of those games against the good teams.

Teams over .500 they have beaten

Bulls twice
Denver
Portland
OKC (OKC was on a back to back)
SA
NOH

Lost to
Boston twice
Miami twice
Lakers once
Orlando
Utah
Denver
Portland
Atlanta
Denver once

I will always root for Amare. My fear is i cant take two heartbreak in a season, the knicks are not going to get to the finals, not as currently constituted.
But they are now my favorite team in the east and will try to watch their games whenever i can.

I can't stand the knicks .... have always hated them I don't see that changing anytime soon

I also don't mind the heat - i like the way they play and although I couldn't stand lebron coming out of HS, his style of play has definitely grown on me

I don't mind the Knicks. They have loyal fans and I always loved how some NYers will get way more worked up about the Knicks' failings than the Giants or Yankees' success. But as far as being a fan goes, I stick with the Suns, and generally still cheer for a western conference team over an eastern one even though I've been east for over 15 years...

I do love the Garden though. Much more intimate than you would think, and I hope the renovation doesn't change that. Was just there for a Rangers-Habs game the other night.

I can't root for a New York team....in any sport. Their fans are just too arrogant.

I don't watch too many other teams play besides the Suns, but one team that has been enjoyable lately is Orlando. They have an entertaining style. I guess I'll adopt them as my backup team and my playoff team this year.

I will always be an Amare fan. I might semi-root for them but I don't think by any stretch they can come out of the East. Personally....I am kind of rooting for Orlando for several reasons.

However, I am not a FAN of any of these teams. I will always be a Suns fan through and through.

I love the Garden too, I think the Knicks have a great group of fans who stick by their team even with the unfortunate run they have had the past few years. Too bad they are run by Dolan and company. I hate Dolan with a passion and will never support the Knicks. I'm waiting for the Nets to move to Brooklyn and I might become a big Brooklyn Nets fan but I can't stop rooting for Phoenix, no matter how badly they suck.

What's your point? Is anyone seriously touting them as championship contenders? They play in a still fairly weak east but they used to dwell where we currently are so what they're doing is pretty impressive. Without an addition or two they are probably one and done but at least they have a future.

Those are some quality wins. The losses to Utah, Denver, Portland and Boston were all close games. The above, coupled with their quality record on the road shows that they are a pretty good team.

Definitely agreed, I think the Knicks are playing attractive basketball right now. I've never been too fond of them, but this season they have been a real positive surprise, and are my favorite team in the East so far.

The Suns are still my favorite team overall, but they're just not clicking this year. I hope that changes but realistically, I don't see it happen. It's a limited roster with no real future prospect. Something major has to change, but a major change will take a lot of time.

The other positive surprise of the year are The Clippers. It's great fun to watch them play. It's sad though, if someone told you a year ago that The Clippers would have a better shot at the playoffs than The Suns, he'd probably get ridiculed.

In a van...down by the river.
F the Knicks.
D'Antoni and his paper mache' Bball is like a cockroach that wont go away on this forum. Even after 2 years?
Yuck. :barf:

The teams i'm pulling for(with the SUNS spiraling) are the very same teams i despised 3-5 years ago because at least they're doing it right!

:help:Save me Sarver....walk away. Where's Larry Brown? Can we get Larry Brown in here as a token defensive guy for just 1 season?
