The teams i'm pulling for(with the SUNS spiraling) are the very same teams i despised 3-5 years ago because at least they're doing it right!

You're not talking about the Spers are you? I'm not sure, but I think you can get banned for this.

Shhh...
Actually i dont thinks its bannable since Bowen and Horry are gone.

I do pull for the Celtics....which makes no sense because the NE Patriots are a disgusting organization in my eyes as a Rams fan after *SBXXXVI

NO!

I've always hated the Knicks. For years it has brought me great joy to watch them struggle in spite of an astronomical payroll. I don't like anything about this team and have no interest in cheering for anything but them losing.

Easy to understand. Other than the pre-Duncan Spurs I've never really had a second favorite team, I've just hated them all. However, I have been a fan of individual players that I've followed from college to the NBA and that's kind of the way I'm following the Knicks. I want to see the Knicks do well because of Amare (and to an extent, Dantoni) but I'm not at all invested in them. It's kind of nice to cheer for a team and not feel like it's the end of the world when they lose.

I like to see Amare maturing into a true franchise player where ever he is. :)

Actually, I'd like the Magics to win it all this year, cos of JRich!

The Suns will always be my favorite team. I just can't root for another team because we aren't in contention. If the Suns decide to start rebuilding however I will root for the team that gives Nash a shot at a ring.

This is basically where i'm at with our very own Suns team right now.....unfortunately.
I need to be on board with the program...and i'm just not....not one bit.

I wish I could say the same thing. Every loss eats away at me a little bit. Fortunately, I seem to be in better spirits than a lot of the Suns fans here but it's mostly because I had such low expectations coming into this season. I did my best to lower expectations over the summer but got beat over the head for my efforts. I'm happier today than most but I'm at least a foot shorter now.:D

Chicago is my 2nd favorite team right now and once Nets get 'Melo and move to Brooklyn, they may be my 2nd team.

Suns will always be my team even with that cornholio owner but I've been rooting for the Knicks too. It's cool seeing Amare lead his own crew, something he should have been doing here after Nash retired. Been supporting the Clippers too because of Blake (Amare #2) and I want to see the LA spotlight shift to the Clippers for once.

I still have a soft spot for the Celtics, despite the fact that Rondo is the only player on the current team that I like.

It goes so far back I don't have any control over it. The first game I watched was Celtics vs. Knicks - what baffled the heck of me was that Gene Conley was playing for the Celtics and I knew well that he'd graduated from Univ. of Wash. Yep, I had no idea that basketball was played by professionals. I eventually figured it out.

Then Russell and KC Jones rolled in from the USF Dons and the team went on one of the great runs in sports of all time. I loved the way they played the game - 'fast break' we called it then and they were great on defense - and I loved Red Auerbach - little chubby guy running this team of giants. Heck, I still smoke cigars because of him. I remember the first time I ever disagreed with him - I thought he was running Bill Russell into the ground in the regular season. Little wonder that I don't hesitate to disagree with any basketball coach - not that I was proved right because the Celtics won the title yet again, but just disagreeing with Auerbach on basketball and not being struck down by lightning was such an achievement.

6'8" Gene Conley, the Celts backup Center, also pitched on the Boston/Milwaukee Braves and the Red Sox, winning Championships and getting some pretty good acolaids.

Yeah but could he handle a rifle like Chuck Connors? BTW, what do you take acolaids for? ;)
Steve

 Accolades. When you don't need Rolaids, I guess.

Chuck Connors -- thanks for the memory. He made it from the Dodgers AAA Montreal Royals to Brooklyn for one AB in 1949. He did get 214 AB's with the Cubbies in '51, then retired.

At 6'5" , he was tall, too.

Supposedly, as a Celtic, he was the first NBA player to ever break a backboard. It wasn't Shaq-like or anything. His shot hit the rim and it just shattered the glass (defective backboard, not defective shot).

I followed both Conley's careers as he was the star for the high school teams of my home town as a kid (Richland, Wash.) I happened to be the bat boy for the visiting team when he came to town (in the AA Western International League.) He tipped me a quarter for shining his playing shoes and autographed a baseball for me. Only autographed anything I ever got. My little brother got battered for using it to play a pickup game with, obliterating the signature.

I can't root for anyone but the Suns. I like some (active) players though, like JJ, Amaré, Leandro. I used to love bball but it's all "super" star focus and driving into dudes letting the zebras reward said stars, blah. Good thing it's football season. I'll watch some Suns games after the superbowl.

Hopefully they'll bring in some young talent, a PF or two that can actually play, maybe make a good pick this summer, and get Dragic and Lopez back on track.

Fortunately, basketball seems to lend itself to following players and not teams. Now, I'm strictly a team guy and would never follow a player from team to team, but being able to have some interest (if not a rooting interest) in a non-Suns game is nice. Same for hockey: I'm totally a team guy, but enjoy seeing players I like get a nice goal, assist, or save--provided that it doesn't negatively affect my team.

I've never done this in the past, but I think I would probably have to follow and root for Steve Nash to win if he was traded elsewhere. The guy deserves to be on a winning team. Of course, the Suns would still be my #1 rooting interest however.

6 game losing streak huh?

Yup, they are free falling right now and i bet they cant wait for Melo to come over.
That will be a good team if Melo goes there and if they get a good big that is better than Turia, they will be a contender and even if Stoudemie goes down, they can still make the playoffs.

They lost a couple of games they shouldn't have and they were clearly struggling. Now, however, they are playing much better again but they're facing better teams. We always said their record would straighten out a bit when they faced the tougher part of their schedule.
