I believe it's a fancy title for someone that overseas all the non coaching stuff. Operations, travel, admin etc all the stuff coaches want done that isn't coaching related.
An intro to some of the guys not covered yet.
Sam Sewell - Assistant Special Teams coach - He was both RB coach and Special teams coordinator at EMU. Was a RB coach and ST coach for about 10 years at various colleges but also a couple of years as TE coach. Played Tight End at Northern Colorado.

Chris Cook - Assistant Offensive line
He was an offensive analyst at Duke last year and the season before was Quality Control Coach for the Broncos.
Prior to that Cook previously worked at the University of Akron as the Zips' tight ends and offensive tackles coach. He spent the last two seasons at Akron after previously coaching at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from 2017-18. Cook worked with the tight ends and tackles at Chattanooga, which is his alma mater, and also served as a recruiting coordinator.
Cook has gained NFL experience over each of the last three years, as he participated in the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship with the Cleveland Browns in 2020 and with the Atlanta Falcons in 2018 and 2019. In Atlanta, Cook worked alongside Broncos Tight Ends Coach Wade Harman, whose last coaching stint was with the Falcons.
Possible Brown's connection to Petzing.

This is a weird one. He was with Gannon at the Rams first as a QC coach then as a scout but was let go in 2012 when Snead took over.
He's been out of football since 2012 working in a number of executive positions. Supply chain, operations, recruitment etc. A normal working Joe.
Although I guess as Gannon's assistant that's the kind of things he will be dealing with. Not football stuff.

He's worked for the Bengals, Vikings and 49ers.
I believe this is a new role to replicate what Ted Rath does at the Eagles. He oversees all aspects of the teams performance related decisions including, Strength & Conditioning, Sports Science, Performance Monitoring, Performance Nutrition and Travel Strategies.
Sounds like the S&C coaches will now just focus on the physical training and Buddy Morris won't have to handle the science and strategy aspects any more.

I mean, I guess it's not a football related role? It's donkey work right? So I suppose it's fine.
I guess Gannon's way of getting an old buddy back into football via a minor admin role. Plus he was a College scout, Area scout and Pro scout so I guess if Gannon wants someone looked at for initial feedback he can throw it his way.

I remember a lot of experienced coaches in the past that sucked.

I'm old enough to remember when ASFN was in a full blown panic, because everyone was convinced Vance Joseph was being forced on Gannon.

Kenny Bell is a Kingsbury guy. He mentioned him when he was hired as a guy he leaned on heavily. Sounds like his role is to just fill in on logistics for the coaching staff.

Spencer Whipple's the most interesting name to me that was retained from the old staff, not that some of the other guys retained aren't interesting too.
One would have kinda thought that Drew Terrell's role made Whipple redundant. Passing game coordinator and passing game specialist can mean so many different things. In the NFL, I feel like coordinator is more important than specialist, but in my industry, a coordinator is the bottom rung, and the specialist is the next step up.
It'll be interesting to see how the breakdown works out.

Terrell also had to coach WR's so I'm guessing they work together? Whipple under Terrell?

How is Whipple in any way responsible for Kyler? He's not the OC. He's not the QB coach. He's an assistant pass game coordinator essentially. Pass game coordinators are generally working with receivers not QB's.
How was he close to him before? He was pass game coordinator and RB coach.
Pass game coordinator works with making the passing game work, hence direct work with KM
My point is there were other options besides bringing back someone who was part of the dysfunctional coaching staff
His familiarity with KM and since KM was allowed to have bad habits without being accountable is a weakness
How do you all of a sudden expect KM to listen to him?
Does KM respect any of the coaches from the last staff?
JG is trying to change the entire atmosphere and little things like this can undermine it
I'm pretty sure they don't work with QB's.
Passing game coordinators organizes the passing game concepts, personnel and formations based on down, distance, situation etc. They basically take that job off the OC and put together the call sheets and personnel packages for the receiving elements.
It's actually more of an admin job during the week that coaching, although I imagine he will be helping with WR's too. And he would be on the sidelines during games working with receivers.
But I don't believe he has anything to do with Kyler.
Anything that has to do with the passing game has KM involved
He is the one throwing the ball and WR's have to be on page with him
It's all one big circle
You can't say anyone on the offensive coaching staff has nothing to do with KM
They all affect him
Oline coach, RB coach, TE coach, anyone with play design, WR coach, etc

IF Gannon and Pletzle (sp?) allow this to happen, the team is in far deeper yoghurt that we all imagine. On top of that, I have a feeling Monti has pretty sharp eyes for stuff like that....gut feel.
