Blurb in SP Times:

Backup quarterback Shaun King, who played the first five years with the Bucs, will visit the Cardinals on Friday.

King, who reportedly has garnered interest from the Bears, Falcons and Saints, said he told agent Eugene Parker he does not want to go on meaningless trips.

"There's no need for them to fly me here and there if no decision is going to be made until the end of March," he said. "When it's someone really interested, we can go."

King, 26, said he planned to go on a family outing this week but it looks like he will spend the weekend in Arizona getting to know new Cardinals coach Dennis Green.

"I know that Denny is a great coach," King said. "I have talked to a lot of people about him and everyone has said he's an excellent coach."

Insider Analysis King has struggled when given opportunities in Tampa Bay, and his viability as a regular NFL starter is in doubt. He has plus athletic ability and great intangibles in that department. He can tuck and run, make plays on the move, avoid the rush and hurt defenses with his scrambling. But he is an up-and-down passer who is killed by inconsistency. Has adequate arm strength, throws a good deep ball and at times can dazzle. Other times he will go cold or throw into coverage, and doesn't look like the same guy. Competitive and seemingly confident. Gets into trouble against complicated schemes, reading defenses and going through his progressions to find second and third options. Lacks a feel for hitting backs and hot receivers on underneath and short routes. Will lock on to receivers. Doesn't change velocity well, so his ball can be tough to catch. Style resembles that of a speedy, athletic CFL quarterback, but in a disciplined, structured offense, he makes too many mistakes. Probably a career backup.

Hey! The "Als" are my team in the CFL... and, as far as I concerned, he can bring them up as often as he wants...:D

Good Stuff...

I loved JR "the ordinary superstar" Rogers, and Vince Ferragamo was quite possibly the worst QB the Als ever had...

Yes... he was on their Grey Cup winning team two years ago. There were a few problems, nothing serious - and it seemed that his teamates liked him. They then traded him to the Calgary Stampeders. He was suspended for breaking team rules, and then over money, he was finally cut.
