I did not see much action on the FF thread so I have started a free league on NFL.com. It is a private league with a live draft on August 26, 1PM EDT.

Getting in was kind of a pain in the ass because you have to register with NFL.com and then it's a real pain to search for the league (there's a link down at the bottom).

Since I was already registered it was quite easy to set up the league.

Yeah, rank the players and it'll auto-draft for you. It kind of sucks, through. 1 pm Eastern is--what?--8 am GMT? Earlier? You won't be at work/near a computer then?

on my way to work - normally pretty busy til lunch at work too! it only now (after 11pm ) over here that i am on when there are a few of you guys in the US on the board!

it sux, but what can i do!

i will swap lges - i joined one called 'cards on the rise' as there was no asfn one when i joined!

i will rank my players when i do it!

I hope they do not do that here, I spend about 2 cummulative hours a day on this site (1 hr around luch time)

I wanted to do an evening or weekend draft but nfl.com had no weekends and evening is difficult b/c we'll have players from both coasts. I figured for those who can participate at least it's midday for all.

Teams

Teams Overview
Each NFL.com Fantasy 2005 league will consist of 12 teams, divided into three divisions of 4 teams each. The divisions will be called: East, Central, and West.

Each team will consist of 14 NFL players. Owners may select a starting lineup each week from these 14 players. The chart below lists the required number of players at each position for the 'starting lineup' and the 'draft'.

Note: Individual defensive players are not drafted; rather, you will draft an NFL team's entire defensive/special teams unit. For the purpose of roster limits, each NFL defensive/special teams unit will count as one "player."

Wide Receiver (WR) 2/3 or 4
Tight End (TE) 1/2
Kicker (K) 1/1
Defensive Team (DT) 1/2

* You are allowed as many as 8 players in your starting lineup, according to the positional requirements listed in the table above. However the numbers in the "starting lineup" column represent the maximum number of players you may have at each position. You may use fewer players than the number listed at each position without penalty.


*** Team owners participating in a 'Live Draft' league will be required to select a total of 14 players based upon the criteria defined in the 'Roster Requirements' table above. During the draft, team owners must draft a combined total of 7 Running Backs and Wide Receivers with a minimum of 3 players from each of these positions. One additional Running Back or Wide Receiver must also be chosen to fulfill the 'Live Draft' requirements. For more information, please refer to the Live Draft Instructions listed above.

**** Please note that, throughout the season, your overall roster is not restricted to a specific number of players at each position. Once the draft is over, you can carry, in reserve, as many or as few players at each position as you like, as long as your overall roster does not exceed 14 players.
