Former Super Bowl-winning coach Jon Gruden had high praise for Will Howard on his streamed show "Gruden's QB Class." He went so far as to ask why Howard isn't the top quarterback going into the NFL draft.
The latest episode of Gruden's show, which featured Howard, was released Monday. The two spoke about where the "big dual-threat quarterback" stands as he readies to start his professional career.
According to ESPN, Howard is the sixth-ranked quarterback from this draft class. Gruden aired Howard's highlights from Kansas State and Ohio State during his show and argued Howard should be ranked higher.
"How the hell do people not like you as the No. 1 quarterback in the draft?" Gruden posited to Howard. "Didn't you win the national title. ... What do you have to do? You're 6-5. You're like a young Josh Allen."
Gruden said Howard has a nearly identical build as the reigning NFL MVP had when Allen was going into the 2018 NFL draft.
The two quarterbacks are 6-foot-5, with Allen weighing 237 at the combine. That helped convince the Buffalo Bills to take him with the seventh pick. Howard currently weighs 236 pounds. Gruden also compared Howard's running ability to that of Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley and Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.
The NFL draft begins on April 24 in Green Bay.

Does Will Howard remind you of Josh Allen?
