Will Notre Dame linebacker Jack Kiser be available when the Baltimore Ravens are on the clock in the 2025 NFL draft? Defensive coordinator Zach Orr should hope so with picks at No. 27, No. 59, and No. 93.
All-pro linebacker Roquan Smith finished No. 11 in solo tackles last season, and he might’ve finished higher if the injury hadn’t kept him out for one game in 2024. Nevertheless, as Smith ages, it will be imperative for him to preserve his prowess and maintain endurance through the prime of his career. Kiser can help Smith do that, operating as an agile, hard-hitting linebacker to help lessen the load for the all-pro.
Kiser had 90 tackles and two sacks for the Fighting Irish in 2024. He was also a staple for a team that pushed to the NCAA National Championship before losing 34-23 to the Ohio State Buckeyes. That said, Orr and Smith can help mature Kiser at the NFL level and equip him with the skills needed to succeed and be an asset to their franchise.
Formerly accompanied by Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen, Smith was afforded the opportunity to tenaciously play both the run and deploy as a spy in pass coverage limitlessly. However, teammate Trenton Simpson wasn't the same caliber of player Queen last year, and with linebacker Malik Harrison departed, Orr and Smith need answers.
Ultimately, if Kiser is still in the draft pool within the first few rounds, the Ravens might want to take strong consideration into his talents and how they might potentially help the team push over the hump.
