The Tennessee Titans have the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. Before free agency started, the sitting regime said they were open to offers for the top spot, but then free agency started and the Titans made moves to solidify its offensive line.

Those moves led many to believe that the Titans would not trade out of the top spot and instead use it to draft Miami quarterback Cam Ward.

Considering the Titans didn't make any real moves at the quarterback position (bringing in Brandon Allen to replace Mason Rudolph doesn't count), it's surprising that ESPN's Matt Miller is reporting that "nothing is settled" with the top pick.

In conversations with sources around the NFL in the past two weeks, I've often heard that front office executives aren't quite convinced on this quarterback class. That might be the case in Tennessee. The way I hear it, nothing is settled with the Titans, even though they didn't sign a veteran QB in free agency.

Pro day visits -- specifically the interviews and time spent with the players -- are crucial for teams making QB decisions, and that could help cement what Tennessee does in Round 1. And the Titans have ample time to make a call on whether Miami's Cam Ward or Colorado's Shedeur Sanders could be their guy under center. But trading the pick or deciding to instead go with a non-quarterback, such as Colorado receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter or Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter, are seemingly still in play.

ESPN's Jordan Reid and Field Yates both indicated in the same piece that the Titans are likely to go after Ward, but Miller might be on to something. Tennessee has been increasingly quiet with their intentions for the first pick, and whether they end up keeping it or not will dictate which player they draft.

For instance, if they keep the top pick, it's relatively safe to say they're going to take Cam Ward. If they trade out of that pick, it's more likely they'll go in a different direction. But even if they keep the top pick, the Titans have not said that they're going to draft Ward. They have the ability to select any player they desire, so if they aren't offered appropriate compensation for the pick, then they won't trade it. But there's still no guarantee that they'll draft Ward either.

The Titans hold all the cards right now, and they're keeping their poker faces on. Miami's Pro Day is next Monday, so we'll see if the Titans make any changes after seeing Ward throw in person.
