So what do you guys think of the NFL Network? I've talked about it quite a bit on the Bills site I frequent, so I thought I'd just ask you guys out of curiosity.

My experience with it has been awesome. I still can't believe there is a channel that has NFL programming 24/7. It's been great for being more involved with the Bills and their players/coaches, but it's also allowed me to be more on top of things with regard to the rest of the NFL. I love the fact that you get to see candid interviews with players that you may not ever see otherwise. On top of that, it's like friggin methadone for the offseason.

What do you guys think of it?

My only complaint is that they show bias to certain NFL teams like the Colts, Cowboys, Patriots etc.. I realize they have a larger fan base, thus have a larger viewing audience but if this is truely an NFL sponsored network than they should show equal air time to all the teams. Yes I am talking about having to record the 3 am showing of the Cardinals year in review show while they showed the friggen Raiders 11 times during the day :|

I love it including the review they did tonight on the Cards draft. They talked to Graves about each pick. Also asked about Boldin and whether he would show up. Graves basically said ask him.

Can't beat football 24/7.

Yep, that's a good point. I've noticed that, too. I think part of the reason why I like it so much is the fact that I tend to keep odd hours, and knowing that I can come home from a long day at work at 2am sometimes and be able to rely on Rich Eisen (dork that he is), Playbook, NFL Films, etc, that's pretty awesome.

Even though right now neither of our teams is headlining Monday Night Football, and both are probably not getting anywhere near the exposure as some other teams, I have to say that I feel like I've seen more stuff on the Bills, Cards, Bengals, and other second and third tier teams than I have before.

Yeah, that's the one reason I sometimes feel bad for bringing it up on the Bills board....there are still a handful of folks who don't have it on their cable yet. That really does suck. Hopefully coverage will increase by preseason for the rest of you guys who don't have it yet.

I really like how you can watch pre-season games on it.

Heck yeah......Last year, following a divorce, I had to relocate back with family. I had DirecTV at my house, so I was kinda bummed that I was going to miss out on all the preseason games they were going to show. I came home from work one day last summer and was flipping around on the Charter Cable here at my brother's place, and there was Rich Eisen. Charter picked it up like RIGHT before the first week of preseason, so I was able to see all of the Bills games and at least one game of most other teams. So maybe those of you who don't have it will have a similar experience this year. But I totally agree with you.....having all the preseason games on there was killer, especially for those of us who don't live where our teams are anymore.

can't wait :thewave:

To be honest, I intensely watch every bit of preseason I can...which is why I won money in every fantasy football league I was in last year.

I love the NFL network so much, I rarely watch ESPN anymore.

That said, Rich Eisen blows as an interviewer. He seems to be completely in over his head. He is fine running down a list of questions or reading from the teleprompter; but, once the conversation starts to go off script, he gets totally lost.

I thought after a year, he would improve.... I was wrong.

Still the best sports show on TV though.

nfl network is the best. football is really the only sport i follow. everything else is boring. right now they are all over the cardinals draft. high praises from every draft analyis. last offseason they had josh mccown and dennis green on all the time. when the cardinals start winning they will be on even more. the key to the cardinals season will be warner and boldin. how many times will they hook up.

I can't wait for cable to get the NFL chanel. I can't wait for preseason to start. I can't wait for the new stadium to open next year. I am not a patient man.

I wish Cox cable had the NFL Sunday ticket. Direct TV signed a 5 year $3.5B deal with the NFL last year. That's $700MM/year for 5 years. I don't know how Direct TV makes a profit with that type of an agreement.

Kudos:

- Its low keyed presentation. EPSN has been juicing up its coverage of the draft and other football news to a point where it's beginning to sound like a reality show.

Gripes:

- They favor certain teams/team personalities. They need to spread it around a little more.

- The signal breaks up on my living room TV (only that set out of 4 in my house) but not always. The signal seems to come and go with the wind. (Note - Same problem has persisted thru 2 multiswitches and a couple of cable replacements and set top replacements).

- I wish they would "go around the league" and have news about all 32 teams in one segment.
