Meh, consumers will pay what the market demands.

I still don't get why the Bidwills aren't given more credit for their refusal to have PSLs. They could have, easily. And they didn't...citing that they didn't like them.

Good for the Cards.

Bally’s Sports needs to go away
the teams will charge what they can get.

If they can charge you $5000 to be on the waiting list, they will. Thats the American way... its capitalism.

If they can charge $90 a ticket they do.. if $200 flies, its what they charge.

Look at DIamondbacks prices and the seats sold.. then look at Suns prices and the seats sold.

Supply and demand, and the NFL is the most in-demand sport. Fewest games (which makes it seem like a better value), very good product, fairly honestly run (compared to baseball with massive drug problems and basketball which I won't get into).

Expect it... does it mean that the blue collared worker won't be able to afford seats? Yes. However, that has never been the concern of business in a capitalistic society.

This really isn't that surprising. The NFL is a business and like any business it's going to pass costs to consumers.

It's unfortunate that some fans get priced out, but I'm not going to fault any business for trying to make a profit.

Basic economics. Supply and demand. Most NFL cities have lots of demand and little supply of seats. Cards on the other hand got little demand and lots of supply of seats. Hence the reason why season tickets still available now WITHOUT PSL'S. Let me know when you get this fact LOL.

While I don't understand them, I spoke with a friend who is a Giant fan and will be subject to them. He told me that one positive of the PSL is that he will then have control over his season tickets. Now, if he no longer wants the tickets, they revert to the team and assigned to the next person on the waiting list. With PSL, if no longer wants the tickets (i.e., he moves away) he could then sell them on his own and at a profit.

Make a profit?

Even without PSLs, the teams make HUGE profits. This is plain and simple price gouging.

So, just because a company is making a profit, they shouldn't be allowed to make more money? That's basically your logic.

Again, it's unfortunate some fans will get priced out but if the market can support PSLs I have no problem with their use. Take the money you save on season tickets, and buy an HDTV.

Price gouging is suicidal from a business standpoint unless it is with something like gas or food or water. People can get by without football, so if the price is unfairly high they will.

Basic economics shows you that the first years of the stadium also had the cache of the super bowl coming, and if they wanted to, they could have instituted PSLs. Ticket brokers would have paid them for the shot at Super Bowl tickets. Others would have paid them as well. $1K PSLs aren't unreasonable, and it isn't wild to think the Bidwills could have instituted them in the first year and have been successful. With the Super Bowl behind us, we now have a few season tickets available without PSLs. We had a waiting list before the PSLs.

Oh, and let me know when you can post without being smug. LOL.

Ah, a fan of another team. Mistating everything and wallowing in superior disdain. We've seen many like you here over the years.

IMO the Bidwills weighed there options and chose not to PSL the fanbase because they have made pricing mistakes in the past and it cost them big when they moved here. They could not have afforded to have negative vibes going into there new stadium. Whether they should be applauded for that or not is up to you. I think it was smart business not to psl the fanbase and keep tickets low so as to build on the base of fans. They raised this year and if they do not win they will have to go back to the drawing board because with out wins we will not sell out year after year.

In 1971, the Dallas Cowboys moved into Texas Stadium. Through the '70s, if you wanted season tickets, you had to purchase a stadium bond first.

I keep trying to be upset at having to pay nearly $1000 for a single season in my one and only seat, but I always get drawn back to the reality which is I can always choose to stay at home and save the money.

Have you seen many like me? Fan of all valley sports teams EXCEPT the cardinals? Its not the cardinals that displease me, its the Bidwills. I cant stand them and I cant stand supporting them. Do I have season tickets? Yes I do. Every year I wanna let them go. But every year friends entice me to buy them so they can get the tickets, I have REALLY good seats. And still, I have to question every year, do I really want another year of cards football or not? It just gets so pathetic. Dbacks fan, yes I am. Suns fan, yes I am. But cards? They're a joke, and it starts up top with ownership. Ship the owners out of town, and get us a real team is my opinion. Do I HAVE to like the cards to post here? Is this arizona cards fans network? Or is it arizona sports fans network? Cause I'm a fan of all arizona sports, except the lowly pathetic cardinals.

Truthfully, this site pretty much is Arizona Cards Fans Network! That's exactly the reason this site was started because, Skkorpian, a die-hard Cardinal fan; like most of us on the sight; wanted a place for fans of the Cardinals to discuss and exchange opinions and information without having to wade through the inane BS that haters spew.

And we like it that way! :raccoon:

If you stay respectful, you'll do ok.

Yup. You are who we knew you were. And there are thousands like you, leaving trails of self-righteous entitlement stench all over the valley.

the free market--

folks take for granted the 95% of the good it does them, and bitch about the 5% of the stuff it produces that they dont.

as for Durango -- this board is unlike many others. Its basically a club that Skkorp set up for Cardinal fans. If club members think you are a jerk, you will be shown the door.

I may not agree with PETA, but I also dont show up at their meetings to tell them how much fun hunting is. That is just being a jerk.
