Got a flier at home for this service, anybody heard of it? the claim is that you can get direct tv, including Sunday ticket, without a dish. My apartment complex IS listed in their coverage area. The irony is my girlfriend and I are actively looking for a house to rent in the area nearby and this service probably would NOT cover that area, but presumably I could install a dish as long as the landlord is ok with it.

Yo...Sup?
"You may never even see the satellite dish!" Taken from the last paragraph of this offer.

There will be a dish somewhere. I am familiar with the Hughes receivers used in this ad. Directv usually offers a free system with free install in trade for a 1 year contract, it really isn't a bad deal. They will also move you for free. You can expect a higher charge for high defintion...but if you are looking at going to H.D. this may help a little on the cost of the upgrade.

If you are looking to get the N.F.L. Sunday Ticket you will want to consider waiting until summer to get the special pricing for that offer. Basically, if we have to pay for cable...Directv offers a lot of bang for your buck.

As I understand it the dish goes somewhere in the management property area, that's how they get around apartments that can't get reception(like mine) and that's why they have to "sign up" apartment complexes. I did call and was told the listed apartments mean someone who lives there got the flier and signed up as a prospective customer, I don't think you can get the service yet.

Well if I can get my boss to double or triple my salary, or if our stock suddenly goes from 4.70 ish to 100 that ought to do it (-: I live on the San Jose/Cupertino border, houses here go from 700K to well over a million. We're looking at a house on Saturday to rent, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1300 square feet, around the corner, maybe 25 years old, and they want 2050 a month to rent it. I was told they will rent it for one year and then sell it because they felt 800K was too low so they're waiting a year to sell it!

I think Russ lives in the Frisco bay area if I remember right and that my friend is about the worlds most expensive housing market.

I work in the mortgage field and used to cover that area from a remote office. The first time I saw an appraisal for a 800 square foot home that looked like a shed with an appraised value of about 400000 I almost fainted.

Holy crap! That is unreal. I thought housing costs were high where I live, but that is just ridiculous!

I feel for ya.

This house is being listed as a "fixer upper" and the neighborhood is considered bad for Cupertino. As a kid we were not allowed to hang out in "rancho" becauese it was a bad neighborhood to my parents, that was 25 years ago. This house is original, I went and looked out of curiosity a week ago when I first saw it on craigslist, so it's probably 30+ years old, 1127 square feet and they want about 540K and will probably get it.

Nobody lives in "frisco" they call it the city (-:

I live in San Jose about 50 miles from the cityk, never heard of trouser, not much into the local bands although I do know a couple of guys from school in bands. One, Brian Mantia is the drummer for Guns N Roses, of course that's like saying Duane Starks is out starting CB since GNR hasn't played in years.

Russ:
You need to move to eastern North Carolina. I live in a 2400 sq ft brick ranch-style house with 4 bedrooms& 3 bathrooms (on a half acre lot)... $110,000 (less than $1000/mon for 15 years)

No, it is not for sale...

I love the listing..."Affordable". :doi:

No wonder so many Californians are selling their homes and moving to AZ.
