They are weird. Can't figure out the rhyme or reason for some of the games airing in certain regions.

Why is CBS airing a late Denver/Miami game in AZ instead of SF@WSH, for instance?

Why is SEA/AZ not the Fox National Game (oh yeah, Tom Brady), but then it airs in major pockets all over the country (like NYC)?

Odd

I want to watch the Jets in Buffalo now. Nothing better than a good old fashion snow bowl

When you go to http://www.the506.com, there are three maps every week. The double header network has an early and a late map while the other network gets a single map. For most of the country, the network that does not have the double header shows a single game in the early slot only, so the games in Seattle and San Diego are, for the most part, only in the local areas of the teams involved as well as the areas where the local team was playing an early game.

CBS is AFC and Fox is NBC.

Not anymore. They are primarily affiliated with those traveling teams, but this week, for example, CBS has the SF/WSH game. There are new flexing rules that allow the networks to bring in games that would traditionally be buried on the other network's schedule.

Denver Miami is an AFC game so majority of time is going to be on CBS. SF/WSH NFC game = fox in most cases.

I think part of it has to do with how many AFC games and NFC games are available to each network in any given week as well.

So afternoon CBS Games:

SF/WSH is mostly in NorCal, Reno, Oregon, and the DC Area; as well as Dallas and most of Minnesota.

Everyone else gets Miami/Denver.

So they paid attention to the Redskins/Cowboys rivalry by airing it in Dallas, but they ignore the NFC West rivals to the Niners (because they are playing at the same time?).

Afternoon Fox Games:

AZ/SEA is obviously in the Northwest and AZ. It is also in Houston, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Nashville, Indy, Cincy, Cleveland, Buffalo, Philly, and NYC, and Anchorage.

STL@SD is pretty much only on in their local markets.

The bulk of the country will see either local teams or the national DET/NE game in the morning (including SF)

So just weird pockets all over for some reason.

We get Kevin Burkhardt and John Lynch. That's better than Myers and Barber, I guess.

Seems like we are the game of choice for markets that aren't getting a Fox Early Game.

Not always, but almost always. Each network is able to protect one game per week from being flexed by the other networks.

the 506 maps is wrong too because it has a game on CBS during our game, when we have a game on arent we always the only game on in AZ?

The Miami at Denver game is a much better game than Washington at SF. If you are a Cardinal fan, you're going to be watching the Cardinal game rather than worrying about a division rival. So it makes sense for CBS to put the better game in that slot.

Just to get the facts straight here as I used to work as a TV producer on NFL games.

ESPN has the Monday Night game and get to choose whichever game they want.

NBC has the Sunday Night game and can choose from the games FOX and CBS have. Both FOX and CBS can lock one game from being picked by NBC.

CBS has the right for AFC games and FOX has the right for NFC games. In match-ups between AFC and NFC the visiting team decides, which network has the right to air it. When the number of games don't add up CBS and FOX get to borrow games from eachother. This happens very rarely! The WAS@SF game is one of those rare games.

Good to see I'll be getting the Cards game Sunday. The Eagles are hosting the Titans and since the Titans are the road team so CBS will carry the game meaning no Fox game until 4pm. NICE! Can actually watch the game on a normal TV screen instead of my computer.

Within limits obviously. I believe there is a restriction to how many times a given team can appear on MNF in a season.

For some reason, I thought Sunday Night would be able to choose whichever games they want, with the Monday Night game not being on ABC anymore. It sounds like I'm wrong, but don't know where I got that idea from.

It's stupid. I just finished watching inside the NFL and they literally didn't even mention our name. Not once. Ridiculous.

That's fine with me. Let them drool all over Rogers, Brady, Manning, and whatever QB/team is the flavor of the week. As Apollo Creed said in Rocky III, when this is all over, they're going to owe us an engraved apology.
