I've heard about the NFL network, saw the advertisements at the Cards games & got all hyped up about it.

I called COX and they said they don't offer it

What's up with that??

Is it another thing you can only get through DirecTV, like the Sunday NFL package? Is this a deal with the satelite brokers to exempt the cable companies or is the NFL just stupid in not brokering deals with cable?

I'm just don't get it.

Yes , you can get it with Directv. I have been led to believe that the cable companies aren't buying it and offering it in general. Keep in mind that some cable providers like Adelphia are bankrupt and can't pay their bills to the program providers.

NFL network is NOT exclusive to DirecTV; however, Cox has not yet agreed to carry the network yet.

Other cable companies are offering the NFL channel, but unless people call their cable companies to complain/request the network, they won't pick it up.

I hope you get it soon, because I love the channel. If my TV is on, it's on channel 212. (Unless the wife is home)

First I've heard of this. I'm calling Cox now. I can and will go back to the dish.

The dish is where it's at. I have all the "total choice" channels, about 5-6 HBO channels, 8 or so Starz/Encore channels, and all the sports programming, and that same deal is about $10 more with COX than DirecTV. Plus DirecTV gets the NFL channel.

 I have DirecTV and I get more channels than are offered by my local cable company and I get them for less money.

Not to mention NFL Network and NFL Sunday Ticket so I can watch the Cardinal pre-season and home games. :raccoon:

So did I and I was very happy with it.

However, Direct TV + Tivo is far superior both in channels + pucture quality.

I get the HBO, Showtime/TMC, Max, Starz channels for 25 extra a month (33 movie channels) + the crappy movie tier you get with digital cable (9 movie channels) = 42 movie channels

How much does that cost with Direc TV? For cox its $10 a month for first premium channel or multipack and $5 for each additional premium multi-channel pack (But then again I get a $10 discount for high speed internet)

I used to have DirecTV, but canceled it in order to get the high-speed internet with Cox.
I love the internet connection but am disappointed they don't offer the NFL channel.

We need to start a calling campaign to Cox to get them to offer it!!!!

Me too, but I got my wife her own TV so I don't have to watch lifetime and she don't have to watch the NFL channel. Guys the NFL channel is the bomb! I work third shift so from 7 AM to 8 pm its on unless there is a game on.

NFL Network is going to show pre-season games this year. At least that is what they said last year when the network was launched.

Pre-season on NFL network ? Cool. I doubt they'll have Cardinal games though. At least not until next year after they are Superbowl champs.

I'm wondering what format they will air the games. Will they air them in entirety? Doubtful. By the time they show the last of the weeks games, it could be 5 days old.

I'm guessing they will use the same format that show their "Game of the Week". Totally edited to a one hour block.

We shall see.

Go Cards!!!
