If Young or Leinart are not available I take A.J. Hawk.

I do not want to take a RB in the first round because we dont really know what we have in J.J. and there will be a surplus of RB in free agency.

Although a very gifted QB, Omar Jacobs that high in the first round makes me laugh. We might be able to get him in the second.

Ferguson will be gone by the time we pick,so to me I am looking at A.J. Hawk
I don't understand why you would take Hawk in the 1st. We have a star LB in Dansby, a solid starter in Darling and great potential in Blackstock, Mitchell and Hayes. Add Huff and a very strong group of FA LBs and spending our first on a LB becomes a waste IMO.

There's just a few of the FA LBs:
LB Peterson
Arrington (Cap casualty)
LB Derek Smith
LB Brandon Moore
LB Will Witherspoon
LB Nate Wayne
LB Hunter Hillenmeyer
LB Warrick Holdman
LB Ben Leber
LB Jamie Winborn
LB David Thornton
LB Andra Davis

AJ Hawk is a top 5 pick.....there is no way we will even get a sniff at him. Snake is right....we will end up drafting between 10-14.

Rashon Powers-Neal
FB, Notre Dame
War Room analysis
Strengths: Is versatile. Hits holes with speed and low pads, and runs vertically with power. Breaks tackles. Is effective at picking up blitzers. Is a solid blocker.

Weaknesses: Is a 'tweener; lacks the speed and agility to play tailback, but is on the small side to be a fullback. Lacks sound technique. Must improve his angles and pad level when approaching the point of attack. Lacks a wide base and explosiveness when blocking in tight spaces.

Bottom line: Powers-Neal is a fullback/running back 'tweener who needs to add 10 pounds of bulk to be an NFL fullback. His ability as a runner and on special teams boost his draft stock. He figures to be a mid- to late-Day 2 pick.

From The War Room. Sounds like a Femi clone to me...

I'm sorry but no thank you. Powers-Neal does nothing for me. I rarely have seen him make an impact. In this offense the FB has to be able to catch and I don't recall him doing that much.

Vince Young= Joey Harrington??? Are you freaking serious? They are totally different. I can't see one comparison between the two that would make this arguement anywhere near valid. NONE!
I could kinda see the Kordell Stewart comparion but Joeschmo pretty much ripped that up.

Now whether or not he will be successful in the NFL is of course debatable, but teams will not pass on him because his arm strength, size, running ability are not things you can teach.

Wow they have us passing on both Vince Young and DeAngelo Williams to take Jacobs.

DeAngelo Williams is 5'9" 213 lbs about the same size as JJ Arrington. I doubt if we would even consider him. We need a big back like LenDale White.

Switch Vince with the horrible high pick of Omar and we got a deal.

I will take a Michigan OL any day of the week and twice on sundays.

How do you know Young is going to be better than Jacobs? I will answer that. You dont

Harrington has a good arm. Arm strength wasn't his problem when he was at Oregon. It seems like whenever people talked about Harrington (and now Young), it was about leadership and intangibles. I just don't see a guy that can succeed in the NFL when I look at Young. I don't see a guy that can read defenses, I don't see a guy that can throw the deep out. I see a guy surrounded by NFL talent on a team that may be in the worst conference in the NCAA. The Big 12 stinks. Young couldn't beat Oklahoma when they were good, but now that they're down he's a Heisman candidate? Please.

If you want a guy like Jason Campbell or Joey Harrington that can operate an offense but isn't a playmaker (in the NFL), draft Vince Young. Just don't depend on him to be a guy you can build an offense around. That would be a mistake.

If Young doesn't come out Texas will return 7 starters from that offense. 3 of the 4 seniors will probably play in the NFL. Will Allen, Jonathan Scott, and David Thomas. The other is a fullback who I doubt even gets a look.

EDIT:

I just realized that you have bashed Cedric Benson, Derrick Johnson and now Vince Young. I can find no posts where you criticized any other college players so doggedly. It is obvious that you simply hate Texas football.

I don't really care about Texas football. I am skeptical about Texas prospects. Especially first-day prospects. I liked Roy Williams (WR), but no one else seems to, and he's had a problem staying healthy. Cedric Benson hasn't done anything to warrant his draft position. You don't hear that "Derrick Johnson is the DROY" talk anymore. In fact, he's probably been passed by Lofa Tatupu for that honor. Marcus Tubbs hasn't done anything for Seattle. Mike Williams (OT) has been a massive bust for the Bills. Quentin Jammer hasn't done much to justify his #5 overall draft position. And then there's Leonard Davis.

Honestly, UT has only produced two first day picks who have lived up to their billing in th past decade--Casey Hampton and Ricky Williams. The rest are all Bryant Westbrooks and Cory Reddings. There aren't a lot of schools that produce so many overrated talents.
