On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.
Brady Skjei, NSH at ANA (41% rostered)
Skjei collected a power-play assist in his previous game and I like him as a streamer for the same reason, who’s taken over the top unit for the injured Roman Josi. The Ducks are not a particularly disciplined team and rank 27th on the PK. Skjei was one of the two Preds defensemen who played more than 20 minutes and registered a shot on goal in their previous game.
Alexander Romanov, NYI vs. EDM (35% rostered)
Romanov doesn’t have much offensive upside to take advantage of, but what he can bring is hits and blocks. He’s registered 12 hits and 12 blocks in his past four games, and he’ll have plenty to do against a fearsome Oilers offense that will likely dominate puck possession and keep the Isles hemmed in their own zone for long stretches.
Luke Schenn, WPG vs. DAL (12% rostered)
Schenn was very good in his Jets debut, blocking five shots and dishing out five hits in a 2-1 win despite playing just 16:02. Expect more of the same in a key divisional matchup against the Stars. The Jets acquired Schenn to play hard minutes and maintain a physical presence on the back end. Against a big, strong team with a good offense, Schenn will likely generate a lot of hits and blocks again.
