On every game day this season, THN Fantasy will highlight players and goalies for fantasy managers to stream or roster for the rest of the season. The recommended players and goalies are rostered in less than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues and can be selected in standard fantasy leagues or for daily fantasy games.
Anders Lee, LW, NYI vs. EDM (48% rostered)
Lee is always a great option if you need shots and hits. He averages close to three shots per game and provides a modest amount of hits. He had a slow start but he’s having a good season overall, and he’s scored four points in his past six games. The Oilers have not been good defensively and since Feb. 1 have allowed 3.86 goals per game, second-most in the league.
Logan Stankoven, C/RW, CAR vs. DET (26% rostered)
The one thing I really like about Stankoven’s fantasy value is his consistent shot volume, which puts him ahead of Jack Roslovic and Jackson Blake. Stankoven is playing with lesser players on the Canes but note his ice time has been nudged up to 16 minutes a game, about a minute more than what he received in Dallas. Given the Wings have not been good at keeping the puck out of their net, I think Stankoven has a good chance to score a point playing on L2 and PP2.
Mason McTavish, C, ANA vs. NSH (23% rostered)
McTavish’s hot streak took a brief pause in a 7-4 loss to the Caps but he responded quickly in his subsequent game, scoring his 18th goal of the season against Utah. A few Ducks are on points streaks – Leo Carlsson, Cutter Gauthier and Trevor Zegras all have an assist in each of their past three games – but I like McTavish best because he tends to skate the most minutes. The Preds defense has been a bit more porous than usual, allowing the fifth-most goals per game (3.57) since Feb. 1 and rank seventh overall (3.30) this season.
