Get swept by the Phillies?
As I said before.............BULLSH>>>. The fact that this team was predicted to be in 3rd or last but won the West is amazing. Enjoy what has happened and what is to come.
Remember we took 2 0f 3 from them!!!!!!!!!!!!
And split the season series with them, have beaten both Halladay and Lee this year.

And both runs were driven in by their 1B Gil Hodges . . . just as both of our tie-breaking runs to clinch were driven in by our 1B Paul Goldschmidt.
Two years earlier in the '53 World Series vs. the Yankees, Hodges went 0-21. His priest said, "It's too hot for a sermon. Just pray for Gil Hodges."

Perhaps Alfred E. Neuman should have been given a red beard.
Actually, I've thought that Ian Kennedy sort of looks like Opie.
But neither Alfred E. Neuman nor Opie was ever the first pitcher in the National League that year to win 20 games.
In that respect, Kennedy looks more like Robert Redford. He's a natural.

My throat hurts so bad today. We stayed at the stadium until they made us leave. Front row right on the dugout, Eric Young sprayed me with champagne. Good seeing Stephen Drew out there with his kid and we gave him alot of love. Upton was doing a MLB Network interview to chants of MVP, Ian Kennedy did a MLB Network interview to chants of CY YOUNG. What an atmosphere, i kept hoping they would toss me a beer!!

What I love is that they didn't just beat the Giants, they slammed the door shut on the reigning champs. No limping into the playoffs for us, (like the Braves or Red Sox, if they hold on). We're going in with a swagger.
