Season is over. Ohh well. D-Backs exceeded my expectations.

Continue to fortify the bullpen, find a way to re-sign JD, and get some good role players and we'll be set for a few years.

So no one has ever overcome an 0-2 deficit?

TJ has proclaimed this season over atleast 87 times this year. :) He's just passionate.

Probably accurate. We’ve lost 71 games so far, which means that somewhere along the line, I proclaimed the season over more than once during a game, and perhaps there were some occurrences in games we came back to win. I’m very labile with my sports teams, it would appear.

I attribute to him being an U of A grad.

You’re lucky I like you, native.

Haha no worries TJ I love the passion, I meant it as a compliment. I was frustrated as hell earlier but I just hold back haha. I should probably let it out more tho.

I'm just going to flush last night. Between the Dbacles and Yotes, I need to find a happy place.

The Cardinals?

lol I thought the same thing. But this nightmare sports weekend just keeps getting more and more horrible.

I need to join a knitting club or something that will take less years off my life than these sports teams. :(

Honestly man. The Cards are terrible, the Dbacks are down 0-2, the Coyotes and Suns are both rebuilding. ASU and UofA both suck. Even the Mercury were down this year for crying out loud lol.

If it weren't for the Dbacks this could be the worst year in Arizona sports history, which is really saying something lol.

It's bad. I'm glad the Dbacks are having a good season no matter what happens in the playoffs.

Things have gotten so bad, I turn to the news for a distraction. Eek!

Even television is unwatchable.

I may have to start talking to my family. :D

Hey, at least we have the Rattlers. Though it's a while until the season starts...

2016 was the worst season in AZ sports

Generalizations don't make you better than your opponent.

The D-backs specifics are tied to its pitching. Or ace starter made an early exit in the wild card game, so our other all-star pitcher had to become a reliever, which cost him starting the next round. And with our weak 3-4-5 starting pitchers, that put us (a wild card team) at a disadvantage vs. the top winning team in the Major Leagues.

Our middle inning relief staff is not good, which puts pressure on our starters and Bradley to cover for them. And it puts pressure on our hitters to carry an extra load.

As I've posted, I'll be rooting for our D-backs to win Game 3 at home. And, if we can pull it off, to win Game 4 at home. And, if the miracle happens, Game 5 at Dodger Stadium.

But all three? You know that the odds are overwhelming against it. Our mastery of the Dodgers during the regular season is history. Momentum is on their side. And, if we had it in us to win, we'd be tied 1-1 at least and that did not happen.

Which is why two of us on ASFN jumped the gun after Game 2 and congratulated the D-backs on a very successful turnaround season. I hope that we don't regress next season. As you know from my posts, I believe that JD Martinez is the key to that.

Goldy has been a constant. The addition of JD's power, and the protection he gives Goldy in the lineup (especially with Lamb's disappearance for the second half of the season for two years now), was the difference maker. Will JD be with us next year? That is up to the D-backs ownership and General Manager. If not, I don't see us making the playoffs, even as a wild card.

LOL...what gameplan? Throw strikes and get people out. There is your gameplan Zach...

You're kidding, right? 'Sounds like batters' "see ball, hit ball". A starting pitcher doesn't plan his arsenal? Which pitches to start with, depending upon the opposition? And which ones to hit them with the second time around the batting order? Depending upon lefty vs. righty hitters. And dimensions of the ball park.

Major League hitters, even the weakest ones, can hit "strikes". How many times does the pitcher intentionally throw one outside of the strike zone and the batter chases it? A lot.

Zach's comments to the Press were is response to something like, "What will your approach be tonight?" Yeah, right. :doi:

It was a flippant remark on my part. I know the odds are terrible. I am hopeful for game 3 with Greinke going on normal rest. He has pitched well at home except the Wildcard game. After that, who knows? I just want to win tomorrow and then talk about the next game. I enjoy your input as always.
