The Lady Longhorns are headed to the Elite Eight. The Texas women's basketball team held off a stubborn Tennessee Volunteers team, 67-59. All-American Madison Booker lead UT in scoring with 17 points.

The top-seeded Longhorns actually trailed the Vols 54-52 with 7:29 left in the game. But a Bryanna Preston layup and two straight baskets by Booker gave the Horns a 58-54 lead that Texas would never relinquish.

It was Texas' stifling defense that led to the victory. The Vols only scored five points in the final seven minutes of the ballgame. Tennessee finished the game only shooting 37.9% from the field and 19.2% from the three-point line. Texas on the other hand shot 46.6% from the floor and an amazing 42.9% from behind the arch.

Jordan Lee added 13 points for Texas, while Taylor Jones and Bryanna Preston each added 12 points.

Texas, who is the No. 1 seed in Birmingham Region 3, will next face former conference rival TCU for a trip to the Final Four at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida. The No. 2 seed Horned Frogs took down No. 3 Notre Dame in the Sweet 16 71-62. Both Texas and TCU are 34-3 on the year.
