The only power outtage was...........

In the Diamondbacks lineup. Our offense is offensive. I've seen old ladies hit better than us. The Diamondbacks continue to make below average pitchers appear extraordinary.

Just curious, why aren't more people angry at Joe Jr for this putrid offense? He was the guy who put the team together.

Based on career numbers Joe G. is not to blame. This is on the players as we lack a catalyst who is consistent. We need a Dave Roberts, Kenny Lofton type who actually puts pressure squarely on the defense from the get go. We do not have this and please don't say Kata or Counsel. These two are both nice players but while they play a role like this they lack the terrorizing speed that strikes fear in the defense. Joe G. doesn't bat so I don't blame him. If this group does not regroup you will see changes in this team. Someone needs to put a cattle prod to Junior. He looks like he's going through the motions here. I predict he will be traded probably in the offseason as I think it's apparent the club favors Kata and Cintron.

If Spivey's year last year, is not a fluke. Right now though hes a liability. So unless he start to play better and show hes worthy of this crappy offense then he will get traded.

Whose career numbers are you looking at exactly? I see more overacheviers offensively than underacheivers this year.

I really wanted the D-backs to move Spivey before the trade deadline, he was the one guy in my mind that was expendable, on the infield. Hopefully he is just in a funk, but I just think he is somewhat overated. He has totally gone away from what got him to the bigleagues, he is a guy who was a line drive hitter that did the little things to help a team win, now he is a guy with a huge upper cut that hits warning track flyballs or strikes out, he needs to work hard to get his swing corrected otherwise he will be just another could have been.

'Sad to say that, despite his predominant NL background, Bob Brenly is an "American League" manager!

Your description of what Junior Spivey turned into, after his All Star appearance last season, fits the Manager's philosophy . . . even though it's not working! A lineup of .290+ hitters, which can't score runs.

It's ironic that Brenly, loading the All-Star roster with D'backs when he managed it in 2002, notably Spivey and Damian Miller, might have done more harm than good. Both stopped producing after that!
