Lombardi and LaCanfora were of NFLN talking about the Texans selection of TJ Yates in round 5 spells the end of ML for them. Schaub is the clear #1, they signed Orlovsky for the #2, and they said using a 5th on Yates means he'll make the roster.

I thought Orlovsky's deal was for just one more year and that it was pretty pricey? Did the re-sign him to an extension? If not, I'd say that he'd be the one to be on the block.

A fifth-round QB can be cut and moved to the practice squad--especially one like Yates.

Also, people are right that Orlovsky is in the last year of his deal and due nearly $3 million to be the #2 QB. It's possible that they'll let him, #7, and Yates fight it out. I know that #7 was given a first-round RFA tender. Don't know if that can be rescinded if Houston changes their minds.

Leinart will be known for his great release...as in all of his teams release him because no one will trade for him.

I do too; IMO he could be one of those guys that is a better pro QB than college. He has a lot of starting experience, but he was always running for his life and didn't always have the best weapons to work with.

But this all can circle back to Whiz not tucking him in bed at night and telling him lovely stories.

Isn't it great bashing the Cards former first round draft picks who are no longer on the team? That or watching them play well elsewhere? Hopefully the rookie deal in a new CBA will have four year contracts and not three or the Cards will give new meaning to the term 3 and out.

I got a line on a Lienart Jersey, and I will wear it with pride. (gonna put "Hot tub" over his name but I still call it being supportive)

Greg Little, NC's diva superstar WR, was one of the party boys suspended and unavailable for 2010 season. I was sort of surprised that Yates didn't get more recognition pre draft. Holds every career passing record at UNC. Guess that happens at a Basketball school in the ACC. Without those season long team suspensions, UNC had a shot to be a BCS team and National champ. Then Yates would have been a household name.

I would feel sorry for Matt but is hard to feel sorry for a guy with probably $20 mil in the bank and who did not make use of his God given talents to full extent. He will forever be remembered as one who failed on his own and not because of a lack of talent. He was just not hungry enough. Whiz has took some hits about Matt but he is the one that recognized early on that Matt had some serious issues. We could have wasted time with with him for two more years but Whiz did what he had to do.

LOL, "You're a nice boy Matt, you're such a good boy! Don't let all those mean boys get to you".

He wasn't a name guy, but if you watch film on him he's got a very quick release and is very intelligent. Physically he's not a worldbeater, but if you give him a little bit of time (which didn't happen often in college) and good weapons to work with, I wouldn't be surprised to see him be a Brady/Warner-like success story.
