No Need to Draft a QB?

People thinking we're drafting a QB need their head examined... imo. Kyler is better than any QB in this class and the amount of roster building this team needs is immense at many different positions. The capital is much better deployed at OL, DL, CB

And there was no under-throw to McBride. There was a beautifully executed pass placed where only McBride could get it. The defender had great position and any deeper of a throw would have been very likely incomplete.

Assume, there is a QB you like that falls into teens and you have the Texans pick there, what do you do?

I thought Kyler played well within 15 yards.

I thought his deep ball was again very poor. I really need to see more on that. It was one of his strengths the first 3 years but was awful last year and continued into yesterday.

The miss to Hollywood for a TD was huge and he was lucky not to get picked on the badly underthrown pass to McBride. Could have cost us the game.

No wow passes but there was enough there to be sure they aren't going to move on from him.
I don’t agree with the deep ball examples. The Brown shot just wasn’t a bad ball at all. It was off by about a foot. And McBride was double covered, that’s not underthrowing it that’s putting it where he can catch it. Seriously I came away from those two plays the exact opposite lol.

I like JC too.
But he ain't fast and he ain't young. Neither of those can be fixed.

Would really like to get an all around guy..6"2 225 with enough speed to take the corner.....that can pick up a blitz.
But, I would settle for a greased lightning scatback to split time with JC
I believe a team needs 3 backs. Connor and Demercado are a decent tandem but can you imagine if we added a guy like Auchane?

Was at the game and very happy that they won and Murray played very well. Agree that we need more time to see how he does against some tougher completion. But this is the first step back and I loved how he played. We aslo have to take into consideration that his supporting cast is not very good.
Everyone keeps saying his supporting cast is bad - is it though?

I don't think our receivers or Mcbride are bad. Conner is at least an average back.

Yes our oline could be better - especially at guard - but for a Cards oline historically - I find this one to be pretty typical, and we have judged a lot of QB's for the Cards under similar quality of olines.

Yes our defensive talent is not very good, and our offensive talent is certainly not great, but I don't think calling it bad is accurate.

Need a legit #1 WR Proximo. And that's hard.

The touch pass to McBride where he made the sliding catch while being held was certainly a wow throw.

Not sure what happened on the underthrow to McBride he got the ball out on time it just hung up for some reason. The throw to hollywood was so close and as people on the game thread said, Brown slowed up for a step or 2 like he didn't think the ball was coming to him and then had to accelerate again. You hate to overthrow a guy on a ball like that but man that was close

After a near year off I was pleased with what I saw

It was his best throw, more a wow catch than a wow throw for me but his best throw for sure.

As I said, happy with the performance but I need to see more accuracy downfield first. There were some others shots later in the game, I recall one to Rondale for example, that was nowhere close to catchable.

i think that this line -- and especially the one that started yesterday --- is at best "average"

a top 10 offensive line would be nice........

Kyler said he underthrew it in the presser and it was a great play by McBride

Definitely underthrew it, you're right.

But that jump ball match-up (McBride vs. a safety) was heavily in favor of the Cardinals. Like 75/25. It was an acceptable risk with the game on the line.

He gave his playmaker a chance to make a play.

Kyler should have checked with me first.
I rewatched it, and yeah it looks underthrown.

Yeah I thought it was pretty clear live as McBride had beat his man and was looking back for the ball to take it in stride and score a TD, then had to slam on the brakes and make a play.

Was an underrated play by McBride. To look back and find the ball and almost instantly judge where it's dropping, and then to drop his weight, turn back and grab it low. That was a top class play.

Harry sounds like my wife. We came home from what I thought was a perfect vacation and couldn't wait to tell my friends about it. As I was talking about how great my week was, she reminded me that it rained for about an hour Wednesday afternoon. And this was to interrupt my opinion that we had great weather.

Harry, just saying that you made my wife very happy.
some people like to rain on parades. :) I'll just enjoy this win, it may be the last for a while.
