the closer draft day comes, the more teams will give in to get their guy. So, if they want Boldin, they'll have to meet the Cards demands. Some team will.

I think you are absolutely right. Cards are keeping this close to their vest. IMO a trade comes down on Saturday with a team on the board. Will be a fun draft day to watch.

So does that mean that every team balked at the price and politely got off the phone.

No because in the same interview Graves said they have not told any teams anything about this 1st and 3rd thing being a must have. The whole 1st and 3rd report just wasn't true according to Graves. They haven't told teams anything like that yet, no negotiations have happened at all.

If he is still here Saturday night he isn't going anywhere this season. I think he'll be here, probably hold out of much of camp but play during the season.

ESPN's spin is there have been "Quite a few inquiries"

Subtext: get him in a bigger market/flashier team than the Cardinals

The thing I found interesting in listening to the Cards talk about the situation:
Graves said no offers have been made then later in the press conference he said "no hard offers" have been made.

 Which is it Rod? I take that as they haven't had an offer they liked.

Another guy who plays it close to the vest is Parcells. I can see him coming in late and offering Ronnie Brown and one of their #2's,the earlier one i hope,#44. I think this trade makes the most sense for both teams. The Cards address their RB needs and snag a second rouder while Miami gets the perfect WR for their team. Ronnie Brown would likely be a stud in this offense. He seems to thrive in the dual back offense. I picture him like Roger Craig back in the SF days. Then at 31,44, and 63 the Cards can take the likes of Larry English, Michael Johnson, and Max Unger. Or, for those of you who hate MJ,let's go with Larry English, Alex Mack, and Clint Sintim.

Yep, an ESPN rumor about the Cardinals is usually just that, a rumor.

Yet, some think that Boldin is already as good as traded. Just victims of the media hype machine, IMO.

Until I hear it from the Cardinals FO, it is just all smoke and mirrors right now.

Oh yeah,
Anyone who doesn't see all this B.S. is just not getting it. Nothing ESPN/Peter King/FOXSPORTS/NFL.com would love more than getting Boldin into a NY, Boston, Philly, or Dallas.

Peter King is almost angry about it. He acts like the Cardinals should just give Boldin away for free to a team that "deserves" his kind of talent.

Not to mention the hype machine that is trying to pry Boldin our of AZ, and hopefully have him land in a big market team.

It is kind of disgusting, and yet fun to watch. Because Graves knows the game, and just ignores ALL of it.

You got that right. King Kong has been trying to put Anquan in an Iggles uniform for months. He'd even cough a lone first-rounder for the priviledge.

All Whiz said was that they would be foolish not to listen to offers and all of the sudden the Cards are shopping Q and they want a first and a third. I find it quite fascinating. The media is like a pack of starving wolves on the hunt for a carcass. They'll chew and gnaw at it until every last piece of flesh is gone or until a fresh one is discovered. All of these pecker heads on all of these sports shows have to come up something to fill the dead air space so most of them revert to making it up.

Unfortunately, we too are part of the frenzy. Look at all the threads on Boldin trades created by Whiz's comments on this. Life should get back to normal once the draft is over.

If there is one thing we have learned, is that something there is always a calm before the storm.

Boldin isnt talking, His agent wont even give interviews, The Cards are being as vague as possible and probably wouldnt have said anything at all if they didnt have a pre draft presser already scheduled, no other teams are talking the last 2-3 days.

The silence beyond the columnist rumors and blog speculations is deafening
right now. Which usually means something is in the works as we speak.

But then again silence could just mean exactly that, silence.

3 days until the draft.

Or does it mean that other teams do not think as highly of Q as we do? Are other teams concerned about the big hit and injury he took last year or his attitude. His attitude towards the Cards could be an attitude he carries to a new team and they would want no part of that. Is a contract a contract Q? Q has done himself no favors with all his talk. He could have quietly told Card management de definitely wanted to be traded and be better off than he is now. He has lowered his trade value. Q appears to want to be the "man" on a team. He will never be with Fitz on this team. Fitz did not show a lot of mouth in his negotations. Q should take a look at T.O. who is an pro bowl receiver but a big pain in the a--. Look where it has landed him. I have said all along that Q would be gone. It may be we have no takers and he is not gone. I would not give him away. Maybe a 1st and a 3rd is to much? It all depends on how a team views Q and his value to their team.

I have also been of the opinion if a deal is to happen it will happen on draft day. The Cards will want to see who is available when a potential trading partner's number is called. If they have the guy(s) they want then a deal will happen. A deal like this could already be in place.

What would we all be talking about if the Q thing was not with us? A #31 pick is not a very good subject. At least Q has provided us with some interesting guesses.

I think if anything happens, it will be as you two (and others) have said.

Personally, I don't think we can believe very much of what is being said. It could all be posturing by the Cards. You just don't know.

Yes, but...

if, let's say, Moreno is available, and our trading parnter suspects we covet him, they will not up an offer that has previously been rejected by us. They will expect Graves to panic and pull the trigger on less than what Q is worth.

That's my fear.
