Id prefer to hire internally if possible. I think it would bode well for where this team is headed as a whole. JMO

If you have a chance to hire one of the 10 best defensive coaches in the NFL due to Vance leaving, you take it. Zimmer and Fangio are in that category. Those guys are also less likely to get another HC shot.

But wouldn't this mean a change over in at least some of the personnel? If Zimmer can utilize all the current young talent on this team then heck yeah but he did just sign PP2 for 10 mil per year and thought his DB's would good enough in 2020 so those are concerns of mine.

Both Zimmer and Fangio are good with adjusting their schemes to unique players.
