No trades close.....might not happen at all

Ok, many of us on here know DBDynasty from RealGM. The guy is the inside source of the Suns. Here's his latest info on the trade front posted by him 155PM:

Kerr told the Washington GM, who just called, that we weren't close to any deals and that we may not do anything at all.

So settle down everyone. LOL.

I hope they don't do anything to this roster, they just need to get their act together.

The first thing they need to do is FIRE PORTER!!!!

In all honesty, I'd look to trade Shaq if possible. If we could get a defensive and serviceable center, along with some young pieces (I don't care if we get picks) for Shaq, I do it. Amare is best without Shaq there (defensively, rebounding, offensively). He's the normal beast that is Amare.

Kerr said the same thing last year a few days before the Shaq trade was announced.

Having said that..if Kerr is doing his job that is what he should be telling all the GM's. It gives him leverage to tell every GM out there that basically this team has not gotten a good enough offer.

I don't think this means no deal is going to happen by a long shot.

If DBDynasty says that's what Kerr said, that's what Kerr said. DB is the one that broke the Shaq for Marion/Banks deal 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE DEAL TOOK PLACE!!! He tells us how it is and whats going on.
Now whether Kerr was telling Washington the truth or not, is a different story. From what DB has said, Miami and Chicago were the front runners, with Indy, Detroit, Sac, Toronto, Portland, Nets, Knicks, Cavs all interested.

I think your reading into what this means. He didn't say that Kerr said no trade would occur. He just repeated what Kerr told a GM which was basically saying "nothing right now".

That's a far cry from nothing is going to happen. Again, Kerr better as hell being saying that drive up the value of any trade. These GM's all talk and leak offers to each other on purpose to get a feel for what it would cost.

Now another guy that says he has insider info from Detroit is a deal is done between the Suns and Pistons.

Main pieces being Rashweed, Prince and Afflalo for Amare and Barbosa.

This one is a little shaky to me, especially since it has us dealing Barbosa and not getting Hamilton back instead of Prince. Also, this deal doesn't help where it's needed for the future, the PF position (i.e. getting Amir or Maxiell in the deal). It does however help for THIS YEARS PUSH. This is how.

We upgrade defensively at the PF position with Rashweed, who also can spread the floor for Shaq better from the PF position than Amare. Prince is also an All-NBA defender that can play the point forward when Nash sits, and has the nice slash to the basket and 3pt skills. Afflalo is another defender, athletic guy. But as stated before it now clogs up the SG/SF positions.

Nash/Prince
J Rich/Barnes/Afflalo
Hill/Prince/Barnes
Rashweed/Lou/Dudley
Shaq/Lou/Lopez

I call BS unless this team is trading Hill, Barnes or both. Neither of the guys coming over can play backup center and the Suns don't want to play Lou or Lopez there. Makes no sense IMO.

I'm not a big fan of this deal either as stated. Like I said it was posted by a guy that said he had INSIDE source with the Pistons (doubtful).

Your assessment is a little off though. Rashweed can play back-up center at times against half the centers in the league (he has the size, strength and defense). Prince as well (if we go back to more of a run n gun a little) can play some time at PF as well.

I guess that's true. Rasheed can play some center. I was referring to the other guys I guess. Also, if we take on Prince it's could be viewed as a move for the future.

Sounds nice, but I'd be worried about Prince. He was great in past years, but seems a step slow this year. He has a lot of miles logged since being drafted - would want to make sure he is healthy and going to bring it for a few more years.

Course, like a broken record, we could have drafted him over Casey Jacobsen. Sigh.

Totally agree. In Porter's system, Shaq and Amare do not mix. Why the Suns refuse to recognize this and are opting to blow up a team that has the talent to contend with anyone but a coach that has no clue how to use it is beyond me.

Everyone, please relax. You can all rest assured that no matter what, Kerr will make the worst possible trade.

maybe Amare and LB for Prince, Sheed and Amir?

Barnes and Prince off the bench as SG and SF respectively.

Shaq gets all the touches that he wants,
Sheed spread the floor with his 3pt shooting.

Amir as the back up C/PF

My FAVORITE was when Kerr said we wouldnt make a trade that didnt make the team better shortly before trading KT and two draft picks for nothing.

we'd need another guard to replace barbosa. If we could swing even will bynum back in that deal, i might be okay. he had some good flashes earlier in the year.
