Bad year for WRs.
Great year for TEs. Cards need one.

Mercecdes Lewis UCLA
Leonard Pope U of GA
Joe Klopfenstein Colorado
Vernon Davis Maryland
Dominique Byrd USC
Anthony Fasano Notre Dame
T J Williams N. Car. State

I would take one of these in a heartbeat.

I'd be mighty tempted to go with one of the guys that will be there in the 2nd.

Trying to seperate this group and rank them would be difficult, and there ain't any way 7 TEs go in the first. I just hope the Cards don't settle for a 6th round TE. Shades of Jackie Smith, greatest TE to ever play the game of Football.

I don't know, but I don't think the 9" TE is going to help us in the red zone. ;)

Matbe they were talking about Jeramy Stevens, the Seattle TE? I think he's closer to 7'0 than 6'5.

I only watched three Cardinals games this year so I don't haven't seen him much, but what's wrong with Adam Bergen? 28 catches and 270 yards isn't really that bad for a rookie. With the possible exception of Vernon Davis are any of those guys really going to better than Bergen next year.

I'm a big Bergen fan. He showed great hands this past year and was able to create space in the middle. If we're on the clock and one of the TEs is the BPA, okay, but I hate drafting for need. And I'm not sure the TE is our biggest need.

any 1st day pick of a TE will be a disappointment to me. Bergen was good enough, especially for a rookie and we have MUCH more pressing needs.

With our redzone productivity...I really don't believe that we have more pressing needs then TE, RB, & OL. If we were more productive in the redzone last year we would have been 8-8.

Our red zone woes weren't due to the TE position's lack of talent. It had everything to do with the running game (or, lack thereof, as the case may be).

That said, if there is a stud TE staring us in the face when the Cardinals are on the board, I wouldn't cry in my beer if we took him. If we added a guy like Davis to our already dominant passing game...wow. It may help our red zone production some, but we'd still have to greatly improve our running game.

I really like Garrett Mills out of Tulsa. He's a bit on the short side at 6'2, but was ultra productive, blocks well, and is very talented. Could be a late round steal.

Garret Mills will be a FB in the NFL. That is were he worked out at at the Senior Bowl. He is not only short but only 230 lbs as well.

If we dont re-sign Femi this offseason I wouldnt mind Mills on the 2nd day of the draft as Femi's hopefull replacement as an everything FB. but if we do re-sign Femi or someone else to take his place then I will take a pass on Mills.

As a Blocker, Pope is already better, and all 3 would most likely at the least match Bergens Production his first year, but all 3 theoretically have higher ceilings.

Not saying we should grab one of them at the present but after FA and some of the needs are filled one of these guys could very much so be on my list of guys I want in the first 2 rounds.

Also keep in mind, Denny likes the H-Back postition, what Kliensasser played most the time. Marylands OC likes the H-Back Postition as well of which Davis played 50% of his time at.
