One thing I keep seeing from Leinart is he stares down his receiver the whole way. Even on the Pope touchdown, if they had a good safety out there reading his eyes, that's a pick. Still a nice thrown though.

Actually I meant that during the Raiders game the Oakland announcers said the Cards told them they'd had a tough time with draws and screens in camp. There was an article implying it's because our dfense is so good but I'm of the opinion our timing on draws is horrible.

I don't care who the RB was there if you get hit during taking the handoff it makes a fumble likely.

my bad. the media's love affair with hightower is akin to pittman and ronald moore and it's getting on my nerves, he is okay but nothing more than another 800 yard back IMO.

if there is a safety there he would have checked down and dumped, leinart checks down way more than warner does.

you're probably right, but I've seen him do it more than just this game. His head doesn't seem to swivel and see what else is out there. He seems to lock on a receiver and wait it out unti there's nothing else, then he dumps off instead of looking for the second option downfield.

Unfortuately when you have a defense thats based on speed, there are going to be big gains on possession because of over pursuit

Especially in the final preseason game with players trying too hard to make an impression on the coaches

This is probably the first time I've really enjoyed watching the 4th preseason game, and it's because we actually still have good players out there due to our depth. Man, cut down is gonna be hard. There's going to be a lot of players I want to see make it that won't.

Yup, I'm glad I'm not the one that has to make these decisions. Some of them are going to be really tough (ie Do we go with potential in Highsmith or go with vets like Beisel and Moore?)
