I'm pretty much here, but I fall more on the B+, A- spectrum. I really liked it. But you are right, I consistently drew parellels to Coppola's Bram Stoker's Dracula and the Werner Herzog version of Nosferatu in 1979. I wanted to find something different but had a hard time finding it. Besides trying to recognize Bill Skarsgard as Orlock.heresy.
The Northman was f'n awesome.
as for this, I heard wayyyyyy too much hype AND I thought the opening was unfortunately, the best part of the entire movie. After the opening scene, I was preparing myself for something truly terrifying and it just never got back to that level the rest of the movie.
Still a rock solid B for me, but at a certain point, what more of this story is there left to tell?
Oh wow… never knew that about you and Shadow Of The Vampire. I can still remember when I first moved to LA many, many moons ago and being able to walk down the street to the Royal Theater and see Shadow. Loved it, especially in that old time, tiny theater.I'm pretty much here, but I fall more on the B+, A- spectrum. I really liked it. Funny enough, Willem Dafoe played Max Shrek, the actor playing Nosferatu in the 1922 version of the movie in Shadow of the Vampire. A movie that I helped fund back in the day. One of the first "crowdfunded" movies ever. My name was even on the DVD.
Yeah got to go to the premiere on the Universal lot. Might have been the first time I'd ever visited a studio lot, definitely was the first time I was on Universal (where I would eventually work for a few months back at NBC).Oh wow… never knew that about you and Shadow Of The Vampire.
