I'm not a guy for moral victories or great efforts. I care about winning and that kinda is how it is. We lost and that disappoints me, not because I expected us to win, but because it is disappointing to lose. That being said. what did we think was going to happen.

We have two maybe four real offensive linemen (Shelton, Step and maybe Big and Wells) and two real defensive linemen (Berry and Dockett). If football is won up front than we have a long way to go. We don't have a dominant RB, we have an inexperianced QB, and our only pro bowler is injured. We are young at wide receiver, really young. Our linebackers are either physically limited or very young. Our secondary has promise but not enough to cover all day without pressure.

We have holes people. I am seriously surprised this game stayed kinda close at all. The best thing that we can do this yera is determine if Josh McCown is good enough to be our QB and who is worth a damn on this roster. Right now there are probably 4 players who have rpoven themselves (Macklin, Starks, A Wilson and Berry). There are 8 players who get a pass for a couple of weeks because they are young (Dockett, Dansby, Hayes, Wells, Step, Fitz, B Johnson and McCown). These kids have to start so we can tell if they can fill a spot next year. That is 12 players. The rest will either have to step up or get out. That is what this year is all about.

Great post. It's very tough to find the right balance between having high expectations for this year, but also being realistic and looking towards the future.

I think Freddie Jones has played well...he is about the only one I would add to the proven list...

Yeah...he has proven that he can't block and can't break a tackle to get a first down. He needs to step up if he is proven and he hasn't yet. I hope he does he is an imposing player but hasn't had much to hang his hat on in the first two games. He missed at least 4 blocks today that had Josh scrambleing. None of the tightends did there job today.
