If you are not Coach Green, please do not read this. It is a subliminal message and could addle a lesser man's brain.

I really don't think this is a smokescreen. The four playmakers in his mind are Taylor, Winslow, Fitzgerald and Mike Williams. IMO he wants Fitzgerald and will take Mike Williams if he is gone. After the first round he will go for BPA but also look at the needs especially on defense.

This offensive unit is sooooooooooo close to clicking that you first HAVE to put the finishing touch on it before moving to the D.

DG has a plan. He is not going to overpay for a LB. They have a certain amount allotted. They have a back up plan in Hayes and Levar.
Russ Smith said:That comment actually confused me. FIsher is the incumbent starter, and per Wildman Fisher's knees are fine, so I'm not sure why Green said he'd "challeng" and why he talked about if he's healthy? I understand he's not one of the named DG starters and I have no issue with that but the quote made it sound like Green sees him as a backup coming off a big injury and not a guy who started all year for us last year.
I really like Fisher and Hayes, I'm one of the guys hoping Hayes is getting time at MLB too, much as I've backed McKinnon over the years, I think he's on the downside of his career and I think Hayes could be the guy there in the future.

Duckjake said:What makes people think that the offense is close to being great other than that Dennis Green is now the HC?
The only change to a group that finished DAL in points scored is Blake is gone and he didn't even start the last 3 games of the season.
I just don't see how you can expect to take a terrible team add a DE, some backups, and a handful of rookies and expect to be any better than you were the year before on offense.
I guess that you could say the poor offensive production was a result of McGinnis and Sullivan being way out of their league in directing the offense, having 6 new starters, no experience at WR and Kendall adjusting to the center position. All of these problems could be corrected simply by getting a year's worth of on field experience and better coaching.
However, the Cards gambled on their defense being better last year simply because their players had another year of experience. They lost.
I hope they are not making the same mistake with the offense this year.
