while much was made of Fitz -- the Cards werent signing big names anyway.

Pace wasnt coming back. His agent knew well prior to free agency that Miami and the Jets were going to put up big dollars for him.

Faneca was a fan pipe dream, as was Asante Samuel.

I suspect that Rod and Wis pretty much got the guys they wanted

Sorry, but they didn't do everything anyone on this board suggested they should do as concerns FA's, the draft, etc. and it is obvious that the posters on this board know a lot more about football than the Cardinals organization does.;)

Well, up until last year they did.

Hey Rugby! The new edition of The Arizona Cardinals newsletter, Sidelines, had information about your all time favorite Cardinal draft picks.

Colin Scotts: Played defensive line for Cards 1987-88. Originally played for Australian Schoolboys Rugby Team and offered football scholarship to Hawaii after coach saw him playing Rugby at UCLA. First Australian to play in NFL.

Richard Tardits: Cards 5th selection in 1989 draft. Former Rugby player in France. A DE at Georgia he left school as the all-time sack leader with 29.

What did you want Fitz to do exactly? I'm all ears.
I wasn't trying to bash Fitz in the least. I would have done the same thing.

You know this how?

Also, there is a huge difference between wanting to sign big names and being able to sign role players/backups.

Mwelde Moore is exactly the type speed back that everyone wanted to compliment Edge. The guy is a burner who averaged over 5ypc being stuck behind AD and Taylor in Minnesota. He was had for pretty much what we have been paying Shipp.

It is ridiculous for any of you to attempt to say RG handled the situation well. Whats comical is that some are delusional enough to act like I am speaking irrationally here. I have yet to hear anyone outside of this board say anything positive about it at all.

The truth of the matter is that none of us have any idea what the Cards would have done had they had any cap space. There is no way you will convince me though that we were better off not having any options.

I myself dont think they were going to have done much else in free agency besides maybe sign that Rams LB we were looking at instead of signing Matt Stewart. Other then that and maybe having some more cap space to hand out more up front cash like last year to the free agents that we did sign I think our free agency went exactly like our front office wanted it to go.

But I can see exactly where you are coming from with your last sentence. It is very much so true.

only the ump-teen different quotes and articles that had Graves bascially saying "we wont be as active in free agency this year as last" and "we wont be active in the first few days of free agency"

and Darren Urban writing that fans can forget about Faneca, Suggs and Samuel, that the approach will be to get second tier guys to add depth and competition.

All of that would be great except that Graves and Co said all of the same things heading into FA two years ago right up until we signed Edge.

Have you ever pondered whether RG just knew that he wouldn't be able to get anything done concerning Fitz in a timely fashion? Maybe he anticipated having no $ to spend. If he did, it would make all the sense in the world to forwarn the fans that there would be no FA action.

Also please remember that we had ZERO money. You cannot sign mid level or even low level guys without any $$. Moore was $1mill per year and was exactly what the organization claimed to want to compliment Edge. Are you really trying to tell me that they wanted to pass up the chance to lock down a guy who met their needs perfectly only put their faith and hopes into a crapshoot that is the draft????]

Backup RB and CB depth were needs, plain and simple, and good teams address needs in FA so that they may select the BPA in April.

cfm, aren't you one of the guys who was complaining last season because the Cards didn't spend all their cap dollars?

I was one of the guys who said the Holt signing was stupid and we should have been targeting Laron Landry/Tanard Jackson in the draft. I understand that contradicts what I just said about the team filling immediate needs, but whatever. I am just walking in the door from the NCAA Lacrosse quarterfinals and have 30+ beers in me. Pardon me if I am not making much sense. Off to the Preakness I go.

It's our company name.

I was getting the feeling that Pantone, Inc. doesn't like potential copyright infringements, so I thought I'd change it.

Since we (my wife and I) own the trademark to 'Ethx', I figure that I'm safe (!).

I can't either, really...it's my wife who absolutely can.

(She's never done anything questionable in her life.)
