We are a week away from the start of the college football season, and for fans of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, it doesn’t get much bigger than opening the season against the Michigan Wolverines, in South Bend, in prime time, with ESPN’s College Gameday in attendance. Part of the charm of Gameday over the last 25 years are the weekly picks of the games by Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit (everyone else is window dressing). To be honest, it’s the only part that many fans tune in for given the length and played-out banter throughout the program.
