Notre Dame junior quarterback Steve Angeli plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
"Notre Dame QB Steve Angeli plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, Pete Nakos reports," On3 announced.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound quarterback appeared in 21 games, including one start, at Notre Dame from 2022-24. He completed 58-of-80 passing attempts for 772 yards, 10 touchdowns and one interception. Angeli also rushed for 36 yards on 17 attempts.
The former Notre Dame quarterback is from Bergen Catholic High School in Oradell, New Jersey. Former Tennessee quarterback Jarrett Guarantano also played at Bergen Catholic before signing with the Vols.
Guarantano discussed Josh Heupel's program at Tennessee with Vols Wire in Dec. 2024.
"He looks at his personnel, he game plans for his personnel, he puts his players in the best position possible, no matter if that is every game or every year, every recruiting class -- everything," Guarantano said. "He is such a special coach and he does it the right way. I am super happy that they decided to go with him as coach because it has been program changing, for sure."
Tennessee and Heupel also received a transfer offensive lineman in Sam Pendleton following the 2024 season.
